I couldnt even finish the first two matrix films so i didn't intend to watch this one. I prefer Keanu in other films like Point Break and Hardball. I wasn't crazy about Matrix nor John Wick although i actually liked John Wick 2. Speed was an ok movie but i still prefer Speed 2 (said no one else ever)
I know haha
I didn't see it and I most certainly won't go to the movies to see it... maybe I'll watch it at home... I liked Matrix 1 and 2, Matrix 3 was a bit of a let down, I don't know if I'll like this one.

I had very, very low expectations going into it, and the first half was a slow, muddled mess, with far too many re-hashed clips from- and references to- the previous movies - so at the midway point it was definitely tempting to give up and switch it off.
I persevered though, and in fairness, it did get better in the second half, and the storyline started to come together more. It wasn't great by any means, but it wasn't terrible. It was never going to be able to wow anyone with its visuals, the way the first movie did, but they were respectable, and to be honest, action sequences are always tedious and send me to sleep anyway (part of the reason Marvel movies are such shite).
Aside from that, my other main criticism would be the really poor casting decisions. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II had a really tough assignment as the new Morpheus, so I'm prepared to cut him some slack, and actually he gave it a decent effort anyway. On the other hand, Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff were both woefully miscast in their roles. Jessica Henwick wasn't the best choice for her role either, but certainly didn't ruin the movie the way those other two did (I cannot stress enough how truly abysmal they were).
I think as long as you keep your expectations in check, it's not too bad a movie. If you're expecting it to be as good as the original movie, you will be sorely disappointed.
I was never a fan of The Matrix franchise whatsoever and either only saw the first movie, or saw the second and third ones but don't remember a single thing about them. So I went in with no expectations at all and still was disappointed. Don't they heavily suggest to the audience that they didn't even want to make this and that it was just to earn a paycheck from Warner Bros? A YouTube podcast (Midnight's Edge) also pointed out that Lana Wachowski hasn't had a single hit since they made the first Matrix. That's an entire career of duds, including Speed Racer, Cloud Atlas, Jupiter Ascending, and Sense8. Literally EVERYTHING after the first Matrix movie sucked. Their career is worse than M. Night Shyamalan. Also, have you seen Lana Wachowski? They look like a total nutcase. Complete with pink SJW hair and everything. They're off their rocker.
The original movie was great - the second and third were both mediocre and forgettable (again, not terrible, but still disappointing after the original).
There certainly was the line in the movie about Warner Bros saying they were going to make a sequel with or without them, but who knows what the situation really was. There was a lot of self-aware stuff like that in the first half (eg. needing a visual effect that would have the same impact on players/viewers as "bullet time" did in the original) - none of it really "worked" for me, so that's why I say the second half was better.
I know they haven't done a good movie since, and obviously that's why my expectations were so low (I was by no means eagerly anticipating it - I had some time to kill and it was just there). As I said, I don't think it's great, but I don't think it's terrible either, and not too far off being "good" - they really just needed to replace those two actors, and cut out about 50% of the first half of the movie.
I thought the movie was awful completely not worth doing at all. The only cold part was seeing Trinity flying but the rest of the movie was terrible in my opinion
ffs that one is out too? The movie marathon is getting longer
It was TERRIBLE. So much recycled bullshite! A new Morpheus, A new Matrix, a new Smith? Like come up with something fresh will yah please?
I agree with you but you blocked me because you’re so sensitive on political topics
I haven't seen it yet.
