I have zero interest. Typically, I don't watch modern American movies because they are full of indoctrination and political correctness. The last two I watched were Cinderella (2015) and Mulan and both were flawed. Cinderella was played by a 25-year-old when in the time period of the movie, she would have been 14 to 17. And, Disney messed Mulan in other ways.
I will watch older American movies from the 1940s to the 1990s, Also, I do watch a few recent Asian movies. So far, they haven't been too Americanized.00 Reply

So I'm waiting with interest to see what the fans make of the trailers and the movie themselves before getting too excited.
And without any of that, can they capture the high performance of the trilogy again after twenty years? We'll have to wait and see00 Reply
The first film was one of the defining films of the decade but by the last one in the series I walked away afterwards and was terribly disappointed. Some series make a comeback and I hope that this will be one of them but i feel it will never be as important or good as the original.

I can already tell you the movie is going to suck. Come on, they have made 3 of them already and only one of them was any good. Do you really think coming back to it 20 years later is going to help?

The Matrix was an amazing, awesome, wonderful, groundbreaking film. Because of the concept, but the key to the movie was the spoiler; that blue pill vs. red pill moment where before it you have no idea, then all is revealed.
All the sequels are nothing but action films with no such reveal or fantastic plot twist. Basic. Just riding the coattails of actual greatness, but with no greatness of their own.
Just my opinion, based on what I value. I'm sure the sequels have value for their fight scenes and cinematography or whatever, but I'm more into movies for smart scripts.01 Reply- +1 y
I agree that the first film was the best one so far.
The problem with sequels is that viewers had to play “Enter the Matrix” to understand them. “Enter the Matrix” takes place right after the first matrix film and during the second film. It focuses on Ghost and Niobe. They even filmed a few live action scenes just for the game.

The 2nd and 3rd matrix movies were so god-awful that I would beg them to just not make it, but since they insist, I'm guessing it will be worse than hot tub time machine 2.
You just can't recreate the magic of some movies and need to let them be.02 Reply- +1 y
The reason why the second and third films did so bad was because viewers had to play “Enter the Matrix” to understand them, which takes place immediately after the first film. They even filmed a few live action cut scenes just for that video game.

I understood it, but it went off the rails repeatedly and was ultimately a train-wreck compared to the story-line of the first movie.
2K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Yeah I’m excited for it sad fishborne isn’t playing Morpheus though but other then that it looked good.

From what I heard, Morpheus died after the Matrix revolutions. The “Matrix online” takes place immediately after Matrix three and Morpheus gets killed by an assassin.
The Matrix online was considered canon back then but I don’t know if it still is.

I think that’s why they recast him with a younger actor. - +1 y
That makes absolutely no sense though if Morpheus died then why would you recast a dead character with a new actor who's playing the exact same role? That'd only make sense if they were remaking the matrix but there not it's a continuation.
Because if Morpheus died then his physical body would have died as well so there's no way he could be recast.
And if he died then why not have him in the move played by Fishborne in the same manner as Trinity who died in the Matrix 3.
Also another thing to note Fishborne wanted to come back as Morpheus the director who's making Matrix 4 chose not to invite him back and recast him instead. And Fishborne even encouraged people to ask the director why he wasn't chosen to reprise his role and why he's not in the movie. - +1 y
Supposedly there’s different versions within the matrix, almost like a multi verse.

I hope that’s what they are going for.
Just like every other movie that tried to do late sequels... Star Trek, Star Wars, Terminator and now Matrix... I'll watch it, but I am not expecting it to be anything like the originals.

I can't even remember the last time Hollywood made a good movie.
I suppose Joker and the John Wicks are as close as they got in the last decade. So naturally I'm not all that excited.20 Reply👀 Love Matrix!!! I knew there was a 4th film coming, but lost track.
Totally didn't know it was coming TOMORROW tho!!
Is there a home version available to avoid public theater?04 Reply- +1 y
From what I've seen its coming out in December

From what the trailer says, it’s also going to be on HBO max.
Not hyped, but will definitely watch regardless of reviews.
10 ReplyCouldn't care less. Not got into The Matrix. Also, I hear it's going to be woke bullsh*t. I mean, what sequel/reboot HASN'T been, nowadays? For God's sake, they even made Animaniacs woke!

I feel like I might even hate this movie, despite loving the original. I think we needed something more like The Animatrix instead.

When's the release date for this movie... 2022 or something, right?

December of this year

then I'll just ignore it all... and watch it sometime in January
I'm indifferent to it, the whole trilogy I found to underwhelming. It was cool at the time, but is a relic of its era.

As much as i love the original matrix, I'm not interested in this. It's a money grab and modern movies suck. Theyve sucked for a long time. There's too much competition with netflix for hollywood to make good stuff anymore.

Oh god, even the first 'Matrix' film wasn't that good, and now they're making another one?
(yawn)00 Reply - +1 y
It will probably be bluepilled. If it was revolutionary in any way, it wouldn't make it past the gatekeepers. Not in this day and age.
22 Reply- +1 y
Ah, the irony of your comment.
Considering the idea of blue pills and red pills starting with the matrix and the original was all about taking that red pill.
But I agree you can't make a movie with heart anymore, everything need to be flat and boring so that it can release in China - +1 y
Ughh. no. The trilogy is over. That story is concluded.

I mean, he does have that John Wick look in the trailer so who knows.

Laurence Fishburne who plays Morpheus is in John Wick 2 and 3 that where I see the similarly.
