Hmm, I would say it depends on A LOT of factors. Many kpop idols dropped out of their education to focus on being a trainee. If you don't drop it, it'll be a heavy workload for you.
You need to consider these things:
1. Do you have stage presence?
2. How versatile are you in vocals and rapping? Positions aren't always what you want.
3. Will you be able to tolerate mistreatment, online backlash and netizens hating you, body shaming you and nitpicking your every move? Kpop idols need a lot of mental capacity.
4. Do you have the financial means to do so?
5. Do you fit in with their standards for aesthetics? Trainees and idols constantly worry about body image, diet, do surgery, etc.
6. Are you healthy enough to go through the physical demands? Can you push yourself really well?
7. Do you know the korean language?
8. Can you stand possibly being exploited or bullied by your peers in the industry?
9. Are you willing to move to Korea for all of that? If you reside in Korea, then dismiss this.
10. Can you stay professional if you mess up on stage or you're given an outfit you don't want to wear?
The list goes on. If you think you can do it, I advise you try to public dance events to garner attention. You can try dance groups (like 1M studio or similar) to gain connections and experience from there. They occasionally have idols coming in so if it's possibly, you can ask how they did it. Join competitive shows (Produce for example) because that's one of the things that pave the road to being a kpop idol.
My words aren't meant to discourage you, but one of my friends is a kpop idol and he told me these factors are really worth considering and that it scratches the surface of the industry. You're young so it's a really big decision to make since your potential is endless. You have many paths to choose.11 Reply

i'm 13 as well however uh- you shouldn't try to become someone who you're not. you're never going to be like them. just be yourself. if you're interested in dancing and singing, then ask your parents to enroll you in dancing or singing lessons or something.

even if you want to be your own person, just as a kpop idol, it's not even a good life. your diet is going to be controlled strictly as well as your personal life. do you really want to be in such imprisonment? and on top of that, competition is insanely high and only 1 in many millions would actually make it.
Asker+1 yI want this from childhood. I will do anything to make my dreams come true. i was born to practice dance till i die, dude
Asker+1 yplease don't interfere with me
You can dance, sing and rap, have dancing and singing lessons, use Smule to do Karaoke and singing (and playing instruments) with other people from around the World, start a simple group with friends, learn an instrument...
A bit of all that for fun.
See if you can write songs for fun too.
Maybe you'll realize you're not having fun at all.
Maybe you'll want more and more.
Either way, at 13 you still young enough to try it. It's good being ambitious, just don't put too much pressure on yourself. Your brain is still developing and teenagers are know for bad decisions...
Good luck!12 Reply- +1 y
Thank you for the MHO.
I've been watching The Voice for the first time (yes, I know) and was surprised at what teenagers can do in both singing and playing.
But if I can, just because someone is in a group at 13 that does not mean it was a good choice for them or would be for you. I write this not to disrespect their skills or yours. It's just that a lot happens at that age.
As you get older you start realizing being the youngest at this, or starting a carreer early, is, like everything else, ONE choice, but like my brother always says, it's a matter of luck.
Say one enters a group so young and gets hooked on drugs pretty fast. Would that have been the right choice?
The point I'm trying to make is simple: find yourself and your own voice and stop comparing yourself to others.
(Final example: some artists started experimenting with music on YouTube for years before being noticed or gaining an audience wide enough to go mainstream. Hone your craft, and choose what is right for you). 😉

not meaning to burst your bubble but you'd wanna think twice. if u wanna work towards achieving it, you need some insane amount of practice and maintaining your body which meets the kpop standards, and barely a few people out of billions are selected. and if you DO get selected, your life basically won't fully be yours, because it'll be controlled, since you have to have a perfect body, face and should also be able to sing and dance. to maintain it, you're gonna be FORCED to practice unhealthy amount of hours a day and allowed to consume barely 300 calories. I've said what i wanted to say, rest is ur choice. good luck.

1. Don’t!
2. Pursue something worthwhile, and achievable.
All jokes aside, that’s not a feasible goal. If you want to take voice and dance lessons, go for it! Those are great activities that you’ll benefit from, more likely than not. However, the sad reality is that you’re not ever going to become a “kpop idol”, and you shouldn’t waste your young teenage years chasing something that’s pretty much impossible.22 Reply
Asker+1 yI write when I become a kpop idol xD
Aww when i was child there used to be One Direction and know that bts & kpop thing is so famous. You can find some practice videos on YouTube but don’t worry in few years that will be not important.

Asker+1 yWhen I was really little, I always wanted to be an idol, I always work. it's not just a dream
You do realize the horrible things idols go through... from starving themselves... to abuse from companies... and some are sold or have to have sex with ceos or rich people to become popular
