Obi Wan Kenobi
The man fought in the Clone Wars, survived the Jedi Purge, went toe-to-toe with Darth Vader (twice!) and only lost because he meant to. And even setting all that aside, Obi-Wan did the galaxy its greatest service—he initiated Luke Skywalker in the ways of the Force. In his heyday, he was a complete face-wrecker; in his latter years, he’s the very model of a wise old mentor.

  it's actually more that he is able to use the dark side without letting it control him. He's technically a grey jedi.

R2. Little droid sure got around a lot. And he put up with everyone's crap along the way, and handled it like a champ. Not even the swamps of Degobah could stop him! The sequel trilogy did him dirty, just to promote BB-8 out of nowhere.
