What do you think about a black girl playing the batman character Robin?

I'm conflicted because I never liked Robin and I would rather look at a woman playing the part. However, I also see the way they reboot some white characters to be black or other races as obviously cultural appropriation. If they take an iconic white character from the past that was created by white people and make it a different race, it has the possibility of erasing the history of that work for a new generation and capitalising off of it. It essentially erases White culture. I'm definitely for seeing more minorities in film, they definitely need more women of color in leading roles, but I think they need to develop new characters. Rather than stealing old ones, changing the race just so they can make bank of of the names.

I'm convinced beyond any doubt that the entertainment media industrial complex is too creatively bankrupt to write and develop new characters to competently fit their quotas and agendas, so they can't help but bastardize existing IPs, claim victimhood when the core fanbase hates it, and just keep repeating obvious mistakes ad nauseum like spoiled brats.

I dont think its right to change an important key part of a character but for example superman and spiderman have black versions of there characters that are not peter parker or Jor El so it works out.

Robin has many different people so I could see a black girl being a specific robin

I guess it can work. I'm not a comic purist though.
