A few times. At least 3 times, my band played live on the radio. A couple other times, we were being interviewed (there was also a t. v. interview, too but, I was taking classes that day in college about 5 blocks away from the t. v. studio so, I never get in on that one. A few other times I was helping out a few friends of mine that had their own shows, and, another time, my first, although I wasn't ON the radio, I co-directed an episode of a weekly show when I was about 19 or 20 and got on-air credit for it.

A few times and even been on television, plus in the newspapers

I been on all when I was a kid when they desegregated schools in Milwaukee Wisconsin when I was a little kid. That's right I'm one of the white kids that was placed in a all black school. Yeap

I been on all again for me being part of chicken calling contest and a hog calling contest.

I was with the Explorers Group (that was a small group that came after you finished boy and girl scouts) I was part of a mock car accident that let students of emergency medical field practice their newly learned skills.

I played a victim that lost a limb. It got highly televized and them camera crew focused in on me. And that to, put on the radio and in the newspapers again

At least none of my stuff was negative. Like this one guy that ate other humans and was caught in the 1990s.

My friends had a show on our college radio station. I used to hang out down there with them and I was in the booth during their broadcasts, but I never said anything on air.

I have been on TV though! I was interviewed as part of the lead story for the local news in June 2009 when then Vice-President Biden was giving a talk about the stimulus plan. This was during The Great Recession and Obama was just in office. I had lost my job a few weeks earlier and, with no time constraints, got to the talk early. Since I was 46 and lost my job, I was a prime candidate for being interviewed both before and after the Vice-President spoke.

After Biden spoke, I went up to him and shook his hand and told him to run in 2016. He said to me "We'll see." (He didn't run that year because of the recent death of his son, but events during the Trump years compelled him to run in 2020.)

Being inspired by the answer given by @bowenw, I have called many radio shows. About 30 years ago, I called into The Larry King show twice asking questions of two guests:
1. RPI then-President Roland Schmitt - I was the first person to call in. I asked about the possibility of a 5-year BS because I felt in STEM fields, 4 years were insufficient. "I frown on that idea", he said.
2. Author late great author and rabbi Chaim Potok. He wrote the great novel "My Name Is Asher Lev" which I had to read in high school. It was a very good book, so I called in to ask Rabbi Potok what his inspiration was for writing the novel. He said that he was basically Asher, but Asher's story is if Potok had made a different choice in life.

I remember when I used to always call in to win tickets, and just other things. Even calling ia guy in a tv program.. where calls were available to come through.. So, anyone who was watching what I did, they can hear me on tv. pretty cool
