Oh hard one as there are a couple of stands out for me. I would say the following.
Pink Floyd
Rush
Black Sabbath
ACDC
Iron Maiden
my babysitter was in to them and I think she had seen some of them live.
So from a really early age.
This guy is not a band but I have been a fan since grade school. There was a local DJ that played his music and when the other kids listened to Bon Jovi or The Rolling Stones I was a Tom Rush fan.
This is a live performance of a couple of his songs. He is 80years old and is retiring so I hope to see him perform sometime this summer.
I would say Metallica because that was one of the first I remember when I was super little. But truly it's Black Sabbath, because my parents told me when I was pretty much a year old Black Sabbath played on TV and right away I woke up trying to headbang to it like I already knew them lol, yet it was the first time I heard them.
The longest band I liked was the backstreet boys because I usually prefer solo musicians to bands, I think their music is fine, but do not like their lyrics, so now I prefer Genesis and Chicago and I’ve liked Jewish bands for 13 years too like YBC.

My first band was Genesis, though I don't listen to them much anymore, of course it always has a place in my heart. I got a CD from my (step) mom when I was about 14 and loved it. Super into Phil Collins before that, so she turned me onto Genesis.
My mom listened to a lot of classic rock, and I love Pink Floyd deeply.

I also listened to a LOT of Bob Dylan because of her albums which later became mine. Some others Elton John, Beatles, ELO, Supertramp, John Denver, Christopher Cross, Eagles, etc.
A big time top favorite band of mine is Nine Inch Nails. Which has a cool story of how I got into them. I had heard the "I wanna fuck you like an animal" song (Closer), but knew nothing about the band. I got this beater truck (Toyota 22R, precursor to the Tacoma) for $600 from an impound yard that had towed it and put a lien on it. Whoever had owned the truck previously had left the NIN album "Pretty Hate Machine" in the tape player. It was the kind of tape player that flipped when done and played the other side, then repeated. I had no other tapes, so I just listened to that tape over and over and over. AND LOVED IT. I know that album like the back of my hand. every word and chord, I know what track comes after what, etc. It's a part of my being.
Technically I do not know but will go with one I have loved a long time which is my favorite. The band is called The Moddy Blues. Here is my favorite album called In Search of the Lost Chord

ABBA because of the great music they made.
There are others, that I liked as well.
I was only 8 years old when the Beatles exploded onto the American musical scene. It would have been impossible to not be captivated by them.
Probably Metallica. I heard some of their songs on the radio and liked them, so I bought one of their albums. I was a freshman in high school.
The first music I heard was stuff my parents listened to, so like the Beatles were my first, and then lots of 70's bands. I really liked the Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, Zep, Boston, Nine Inch Nails, Weezer, Garbage.
in terms of length of time it would probably have to be Metallica, Guns N Roses, Megadeath, and Nirvana. But before all of that it would be Michael Jackson not sure if that counts as a band though lol oh i also really liked Ace of Base lol 😂
