Does Magneto actually try to kill Pofessor X and the other X-Men, or does he still love his mutant family and is protective of all them?

Is he potective of all Mutants, or specific ones like Charles, or just the Brotherhood.

I wanna understand this character more, he's confusing.

He was a villain when I was little, then I started to see him as a tragic hero, anti hero, anti villain and villain capable of morally shifting

Like he could be all those things in different time periods basically, or go back and forth.

I've only seen the movies. I don't know about the comics or cartoons. If you could explain movies, comic and cartoon and u know them that would be great but you dont have to

According to Stan Lee, Magneto is character that stood up to human beings that was trying to hurt Mutants because he experience a lot of torment when he was kid because he and his family was involved the Holocaust during World War II (Just like the movie "X-men First Class" covered). Professor Charles Xavier was trying to keep him in line to not create War amongst the Mutants as the world were already scared and racist plus World leaders like the governments considered the Mutants a dangerous threat to the human society plus using some the Mutants as test lab rats which drove Magneto to go crazy and to make a stand to take out human beings and to conquer the world. Throughout the comics, cartoons, and films, Professor Xavier always warned him that he will stop him if he doesn't stand down just like Magneto warned him he will crush anybody if anyone steps in his way despite the fact that he really Loves Professor X like his brother.

thats cool but I have more questions now that the movies never explain. What humans will he try to kill specifically and would he ever like a human or want to be there friend or is he a complete separatist and would he be mad if a brotherhood of mutants member had a human friend or romantic partner

You make him sound like a hero, your kinda like me who cares about him the whole way through and sees him as a misunderstood character with heroic goals all the time even if he can be mean and stuff like when he tries to kill rogue or wrong like in xmen 3 or in xmen days of future past where he throw wolverine into the river

Marvel's CEO Kevin Feige already confirmed that a new X-men movie is coming out called "Mutants" but I think it will be connected to the Marvel's Phase (after Phase 4). So they're definitely going to take different approach. I hope in the next film or in the future, they explain where the Mutants come from or like the source of there Mutant race (Like a Prequel film or Tv show) because they did not explained that in the movies. Based on what I understand about Magneto (Through comics, cartoons, and films), he is a good guy just like what Professor X sees in him but becomes bad guy later because he cannot take the hatred of the human beings that are trying to eliminate the Mutants, so in a way Professor X was right from the beginning because he understands Magneto and aware of some of his valid points but he explained that Redemption is not revenge or doing what you feel especially since its been difficult for the Mutants to live with humans and that is why the X-men was born to balance things out in a wise way but Magneto disagree because of greed in power. He loves his power and he feeds into negative because there's human villains that wants to take out mutants. I believe they can create a story where he can be good but we have to wait and see what Marvel's do next.

As of right now, Kevin Feige is mostly focused on bringing certain Mutants at a time for the Phase 5 and more plus the next movie is rumored to be homage to X-Men 97 TV show but in my opinion, I do see a Prequel X-men TV show or Movie in the future.

A Sinister and Storm films are already in the talks and plans to bring in production according to Kevin Feige along with the X-men new project.

Stan Lee said that Magneto is not intended to be a villain per se. Magneto believes there is an on-going war between humans and mutants, and he sides with mutants. In the fiction, there is indeed a faction of humans who are out to kill or enslave all mutants, so Magneto is partially correct.
