What movie would you recommend I watch with the grandparents tonight (list up to 3)?

I honestly just want to see if its already in my collection 😂 So don’t be naming Netflix shit lol. But yea the grandparents are coming over tonight and I gotta find something to watch otherwise I’ll force them to watch Law & Order, Hey Arnold, etc. My grandpa loves martial arts, westerns and killer animal films. My grandma loves sexually freaky, killer romance and horror films 🤣 I love all kinds of genre, just not black and white old lookin shit (and preferably not westerns, documentaries nor slave films). List up to 3 movies between the years of 1980-2021 please and thank you 🙌

Unfortunately movie night got cut short. My gramps wasn't feeling well. It was a pretty scary moment. Now im cuddled up on the couch home alone, prob bout to blast my Diana Ross collection. Lol i’d watch The Wiz if that damn subway scene didn't creep me out at night 🤣

@TrueConfection I finally found time to read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and then watch the movie again. Though there is much in the book that wouldn't fit into a 2-hour movie, I actually preferred the movie to the book. Usually I prefer books, and I didn't dislike this book, but I found the constant letter writing in the book reminding me of a couple sitting on a bench texting each other rather than talking with each other. From my perspective, the quantity of letter writing took away from the story. The essence of the story was the same in both the book and movie, though the movie seemed to personalize the characters better than the book. I don't believe you'd be disappointed with the movie.

By the way, I was disappointed with Avatar 2. Though the cinematography and sound were amazing in the Dolby 3D version I saw, I found the story to be lacking. There was better character development in the original movie, and the new characters seemed to be more an afterthought than well-developed parts of the new movie. There were many more dimensions to the first movie than the second (which primarily seemed to focus on battles). I also don't appreciate movies that show senseless killing of animals. I'm more accepting of people killing each other than people killing animals. At least the people know what they are doing, while the innocent animals have no clue what happened or why.

I wouldn’t recommend a movie on that spread. The series “Firefly” can hit all those notes, save sexually provocative content. A series also compels future visits! Despite you deflecting Nerdflix content, there are some series that hit most of those notes. I highly recommend “Lucifer”, “Cobra Kai” and “The Boys”.
As far as movies…. i can think of “Hancock” and “Cowboys versus Aliens” to hit those notes specifically.
Possibly “The Mandalorian”, but i am going exclusively off of popular report at this time.

You want to avoid hard core action movies cause it might cause them stress and they will appreciate social traditions and relationships more than glamour and storyline. Well in the same situation I issued the invitation before thinking "what the hell can we watch together". Movies with nudity and adult themes had to be excluded and not much survived that selection criteria. Even if they could handle steamy nude sex scenes I would have felt embarrassed in their company.

It is really like finding a movie for 5 year olds that is suitable for adults.

I know you have a vast library. Going back a long way... I think Driving Miss Daisy was the last movie made suitable for grandparents.
