DC OR MARVEL?

It depends if you mean overall, or only the movies. Marvel used to have good movies, but not as of Phase 4. They're sh*t, now. DC isn't much better in movies, either.

But for the comics and most else, DC is better. Marvel, besides the movies, aren't as good as DC, and I say this liking both equally. DC also had three great Batman Arkham games, while the only good Marvel game out there is 2018's PS4 Spider-Man game (and all spinoffs/sequels.)

DC has Batman, Superman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, and even to a far lesser extent, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman. Marvel had no "house name" superheroes before Iron Man and Captain American became mainstream in 2012's The Avengers movie. Marvel really only had Spider-Man and Wolverine, and to a lesser extent, The Hulk, not counting the MCU. Those were their only big three, and Iron Man and Cap were C-tier heroes before the MCU.

But... Marvel has more engaging superheroes and better heroes, overall. They're far more relatable and almost anyone can find a hero they like in Marvel. Marvel has a better catalogue of heroes. DC really only has Batman or Superman to choose from; the rest are B-tier. DC has better villains and better storylines/comics, though.

So to recap:

Better comics & stories: DC
Better heroes: Marvel
Better villains: DC
Better name branding: Marvel
Better "favorite superhero:" DC (Batman)
Better TV shows: Both suck equally here

I like both of them, but not in the "Current Era" of wokeness. The comics of both companies are DEAD now due to wokeness. I like Marvel a little better overall, but Batman is my favorite DC/Marvel superhero.

Once Stan Lee passed, Marvel started to go south. He WAS Marvel comics. Some good character outlines, their weaknesses and foibles made for much better storyline possibilities than when they "all-invincible". (Above the obvious problem of hiding a secret ID, that is).

I was raised primarily on DC and liked some of the origins/reasons/surroundings/powers/restrictions/ etc. of specific characters and character groups (I learned a lot about metal elements from "Metal Men", etc.). But lately the characters have simply become woke spokes-characters for management's goals. I liked the concept of Green Lantern, ie., supernatural ring (s) seeks out honest, strong, worthy people to use the ring for the good of the universe and not evil. Hal Jordan, of course, was the GL de-jour in my day, and he still had to recharge his ring with the Lantern. I have no problem with Jo Mullein rallying the remnants of the GL's, but, 3600 sectors is just getting to be a bit much. And playing the "ring that doesn't need recharging" trump card is a cop-out! That part of the storyline is a hound that just doesn't hunt for me. Can't we just go back to some simple "comfort" storylines and just smash a few baddies each issue?

The MCU has its ups and downs but is overall a good movie franshise. I am not a fan of pretty much anything DC movie related after nolans dark knight movies.
For comix I haven't read much DC to be honest except some Sandman from Gaiman.
For marvel I have read a lot of comix and found really great comix series. Atm I am still in the middle of a iron fist run.
So overall I prefer marvel.

I don't care about comics... Marvel movies are kinda entertaining ( not the recent ones )... DC movies tho... They're unwatchable... So mediocre and generic... They cast the most unlikable and uncharismatic actors... Terrible... But I think justice league Snyder cut was great... So they could make great movies sometimes... And the new batman movie was a joke lol
