Songs often just pop into my head and I thought it would be fun to share a few to see what you think.

First in a series of rock songs from the late '60s through the '70's. Do you like music from that era?

This next song is from 1967 when I was 13.
I love the beat and the way the percussion instruments start coming in. And I LOVE the sound of that gritty Hammond organ, the same kind that was used by bands like Steppenwolf and Deep Purple.
It was a great dance tune.

This is a great tune. I think he was only 18 when this was recorded. The decade of 1965-1975 was the absolute best. There was still Elvis but Springsteen was just coming around. the Beatles, Bob Dylan , British Invasion and the Beach Boys. I don't know why nobody can make music like that anymore.

Winwood did use the Hammond B3, when I saw stepponwolfe and deep purple they had vox contenintals

Really? Did it use tubes?
I like how John Lord would rock his and drop to make the analog reverb unit sound like an explosion. I saw him with White Snake, too.

The b3 was run through a leslie tone cabinet, the voxs through amps, I am sure tube amps considering the years

The B3 was analog though and had vacuum tubes in the pre-amp. And I remember Jon Lord crashing his keyboard on the ground to make that sound I mentioned. So it must have had an integral reverb unit.
