Who is the real winner of the Eurovision 2023?

Sweden won the Eurovision but her victory was based on the votes of the judges. Finland on the other hand won the votes of the people.

Eurovision votes are not even free, and yet they count for nothing. I dont know what is the point of the entire voting system if the viewers dont decide the winner.

Anyway, question is, is it better to win the hearts of the mullions of audiances or the few deciding points of the judges that crown you the winner?

In my opinion, it is a greater achievement to win the hearts of the (majority of the ) people than to win the judges.

If thats true, as a swede myself then I think Finland should have won. It should always be the people's choice when it's voting. Otherwise their is no point in having votes.

So Finland should have won then but I think Loreen was better personally.

Im from Finland and our nation goes crazy everytime our countries meet in the finals, regardless of the game or players. There are qoutes here, doesn't matter who wins, as long as sweden looses. Both countries have more than enough people willing to be fair and stand up for injustice.

I believe its hard to compare them. They are way different genres. One is about love, other is about releasing the party beast with pina coladas.

Its an ego war, I guess. Our countries are neighbors. We have a lot of good and bad history, but in the end we are a combination of friends and enemies. Our country rivalries are like conflicts between family members, like siblings.

Trust me, you are not alone. Many of the people I work with are Finns that liked Loreen's song more than Käärijä.

When Eurovision was held in Helsinki, Serbia won. I liked their song way better than my own country song by the idols winner Hanna Pakarinen.

I dont know was it Jury votes that won or both but I do understand your feelings.

You are right about the payment. They all knew that their votes dont count and still paid to have their view show uo in the statistics.
