If street racing was legalised, would you participate in it?

I have never tried street racing but I like and have tried karting.

I have a very good friend here, she’s a former world’s champion (2nd place) at karting. We have gone karting together on a few occasions. And I love the thrill!

At 21 I briefly dated a street racer, one of the most reckless people I’ve met!
He even taught me how to shoot!

That’s literally the only connection I have with street racing haha.

I appreciate my life all too much to risk street racing, but I love the thrill of it in the safe space of Karting.

As for street racers, they might be reckless but they are very gentlemanly in my experience, that racer got married, but still gets me flowers every time he happens to see me.

I'm racing in a city... aaand this isn't fast 'n furious, so if they want me dead, they will shoot me and say I crashed and someone finished the job AFTER i crashed. :)... so i think i won't

Already have street raced in my younger years. When there were a whole lot less people on the hi ways and streets.
Plus the fines were a bunch cheaper.
Would I do it today? Only on hardly traveled roads. If at all. Probably not, to take the risk of injuring someone.

I was never into the whole car thing. Don't get me wrong, I like the looks of certain vehicles, but the whole racing thing and working under the hood all the time, was lost on me.

I'd rather be out in the sailboat or fishing than looking under the hood of my vehicle.

Just get me from point A to Point B and I am good.

I used to street race all the time back in the 90's, but I would just drive around and find somebody that wanted to race. I would never go to the big meet ups where all the people would get together later at night down in the industrial district and race each other. Those always got busted by the cops and they impound people's cars and sell them.

I would not as I don't like the kind of vehicles that are suited to this. I prefer road racing, and where I live there are ample (and illegal) opportunities to do this in places you have heard of - Mulloland, Sunset, Decker Cyn, etc. I have a Porsche which is well suited to such racing but of course I don't do this...

It is really unregulated and dangerous, although it's always been done. Since they did away with mostly all of the drag strips around here there is no place to go now.
