I was at a metal concert and I don't look metal at all ever, I hardly even own black clothes and I won't change my style just to fit in. I was wearing a bright dress and heels and this girl came up to me and called me an attention whore, that I look fake and ridiculous and that I should stop dressing like that and if I know "everyone is making fun of me".
Usually I only get compliments but this hurt regardless?

I am a metalhead and I go to a lot of shows. While I do not look metal, as I do not have tattoos and wear the traditional Goth stage wear. I do have a lot of black concert shirts. In my opinion, if I saw you I would not have said anything offensive but I would have thought you were dressing that way because you were attention-seeking. It's like you are wearing clothes like you would go out with your girlfriends to see Taylor Swift. Not to be offensive, but you saying that you really do not own much black is kind of a 🚩. A hunch is that you are likely not into metal as much as you want people to think. An example of this is saying that you love metal but the bands you like are like Ghost. While I can listen to Ghost and their songs are catchy, Ghost is not metal. I also suspect you do not like the real true metal bands that sound like the lead singer is growling. In the eyes of others, they would consider you a poser or someone there to pick up men. The truth is true males in the metal community want a woman who is a connoisseur of metal. This is a woman who ✅ off all of the boxes and holds her own in conversations about metal and it's history.
This is the PERFECT answer.
Nonsense, she was just jealous of how good you looked.
I wish haha, thank you
every place has it's own dress code , I wouldn't say attention whore , but more like inappropriate , like why would u go to a Halloween party in a regular outfit instead of a costume? makes no sense
Well but I'm there for the music and to find good bands, not to dress for other people
then why were so offendedd? if didn't go to dress for other people than u shouldn't be so hurt if someone commented on the way u looked
