What do you think of people who say “video games are just for kids”?

If they say that because they see that as wasting time…


So is watching sports on TV.


So is watching Netflix.


So is going out to drink or smoke.


So is sleeping in.


So is doing ANYTHING that isn’t directly progressing them towards their goals.


So if they are doing ANY of the above, they have no room to talk.


Different people spend their down-time differently.


As long as you’re taking care of your responsibilities (e. g. paying your bills on time, being present with your family, etc.) then there shouldn’t be a problem with video games.


The people that judge other people for playing video games often are just doing so to feel superior—when the reality is that they “waste time” too, just in different ways.

Now, if they are on their grind, always working towards their goals, like Kobe Bryant, who used to train all day every day to master his craft.

Or Elon Musk who is known for his 80-100 hour work weeks.

Then fine—they aren’t hypocritical when they say that people shouldn’t waste time.

But that still doesn’t mean video games are for ‘kids’. It’s just another way to be unproductive with one’s time.

I just smile and say nothing. Because what i do in my spare time isn't hurting anyone and how i relive stress and enjoy my free time isn’t affecting anyone. Let people perceive what they will doesn't mean they need an answer to every opinion they have

I feel bad for them, they sacrifice their inner child in the name of what they perceive to be more important goals. I often worry if they manage to find a way to enjoy themselves that isn’t drinking or some kind of borderline addiction
