When you play video games do you like to just beat the game or do you like to get everything in it before you feel like you're done with it?

Do you play to beat it or are you more of a completionist with video games?

Or do you mainly just play until you get bored regardless if you beat it or complete it?

By completionist i mean you try to unlock all the unlockables, find every secret, collect all collectibles. you leave no stone unturned in the game basically.

I usually play to just beat the game. i don't care much about getting everything

I play until I get bored of it. Rarely do I ever finish a game (if I do it usually takes me forever). I only finish a game if it truly interested or unlocks something I want. For example I was playing Luigi mansion with the kids and we were literally right at the boss and none of us ever bothered to go back to finish it til almost a year later 🤣.

The only game I played to the end multiple times because I was ADDICTED to it and I wanted to improve my outcome each time was The Sims busting out on game cube.

I did finish the game The humans. I started it as a 12 year old (middle school). I played it on my Sega but didn't get back to it until I was in college. By then I had to restart it on my PC and finish it there using some an emulator.

Settlers 4 - I still play and discover new ways of winning campaigns
WoW - the whole PvE content
CoD - specific maps and campaigns

I just play until I get bored. Some games hold my attention really well and I end up beating them, but it’s rare for me to want to complete everything in a game, like side missions or get all the trophies. There’s only 2 games that I’ve ever focused on getting 100% of the trophies for, and those games are killing floor 2 and slime rancher.

I play to win. I discovered the trick to killing zombies. You only kill the fast ones. Leave the walkers alone. They're too slow to catch you. If you kill a walker, they regenerate immediately. But they could come back as a runner, so don't risk it. lol

If beating is all there is to the story then I mostly end it there if its not a coop game. Otherwise I look for completing all the interesting story parts. If lore is important I often go on youtube for lore experts.

I choose the first option, I play to beat the game. However, I also like to take my time to explore the maps without hurry and enjoy the journey. One example above all: Skyrim.

I rarely finish a game. I can remember when GTA Vice City came out I spent hours driving around the city just to listen to the radio stations.
