What is a movie or show you look forward to watching every Halloween?

The reason I don't look forward to anything, not just shows, is that it desensitizes me and my joy feeling. I find it much better to be surprised by good things, while expecting them all along feels like I'm only finally meeting an unmet need. ﾠ

I don't have a tradition for a SPECIFIC movie (unlike Christmas, which is Die Hard every year!). Rather, I like to watch one or two horror movies on Halloween, even though I'm not generally a huge fan of them myself. They don't scare me, so my brain starts breaking apart the production and special effects rather than following the story.

Anyway, this year we did an old one and a new one. The old one this year was the original Friday The 13th, and the new one was A Quiet Place. My girlfriend had never seen either one, but likes scary movies.

Even my old ass was too young to go see Friday The 13th at the movies - it was Rated R and I was 10 in 1980 - so I'd only seen in on VHS or on HBO in the late 80s, and it was better than I remembered. 4K widescreen is certainly a whole lot better than cropped VHS.

Put me down for "Kolchak: The Night Stalker." A television series that I used to watch back in the mid-1970s starring Darren McGavin as reporter Karl Kolchak and Simon Oakland, as his editor, Tony Vincenzo.

Loved that show - though it only ran for one season. It was about a crime reporter who kept discovering all these supernatural beasts, Really enjoyed it.

Also, I look forward to the two movies on which the series was based, "The Night Stalker" and its' sequel, "The Night Strangler." The first movie, which came out in 1972, was the highest rated movie in American television history to that time.

Anyhow, as I say, I loved the show. It was spooky but with a touch of humor. It worked brilliantly.

Also, I enjoy the original "Exorcist" and the "Omen" trilogy. All are great Halloween viewing.

In 2004, my dad and I started a tradition of watching SAW (jigsaw movie) At that time, I just coward but it was nice to see my dad enjoying the movie and pretty much breaking it down for me.
mid 2005, the second came out so we watched both.

2006, third movie.
it sorta just became our thing to watch all the saw movies every year until 2011 when we waited for one and it never came. So we rewatched the older movies. We did this until 2015. He passed in 2015 after SAW 3D (which we laughed the whole movie)

I still do it every Halloween. Pregame a few days in advance and last night I finished Saw X.

i watch horror movies every night the whole month 😂 the shining, dr sleep, 1408, the dead zone, the thing, hellraiser 1,2, and 4, candyman, haloween 1 and 2, nightmare on elm street 1 only, devils reject's, the strangers, and children of the corn just to name a few 😂

When I was a kid, we went to camp for a week in the summer, and we'd go on night hikes once or twice during the week, and some of the guys would start singing this, and the girls would freak out. Ahh... simpler times.
