So we all remember the infamous Cats movie from 2019. Which was adapted from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Ever since its release, people have bashed the shit out of it. Even now, 4 years later it still remains one of the worst things to hit the silver screen. But this question’s gonna be all about doing it right. It’s easy to say “Don’t even think of attempting something like that again”. But sometimes you gotta at least try. So how could Cats be done right on the screen. At least in a way that it’ll be more likeable than the disastrous 2019 version

I don't know- but some things really don't adapt well. The Dark Tower, for instance- I believed you couldn't really make a good movie of it. Then, in 2017, they tried, compressing elements of all seven books into one film (a mistake in itself, but put that aside) and having seen it, I'm now totally convinced you can't make a good movie of it.
Not everything goes well on the big screen.
From my perspective, most books don't.
Most theater plays and musicals are fantastic in the theater. In a specific place, with specific choreography and actors who do it a bit differently each time.
I watched "Cats" in a theater in Berlin and fell in love. The same goes for "Metro" in Warsaw. The most beautiful musicals I've ever seen.
I don't know what would need to be done to capture that atmosphere, sound, and people on stage...
Lol Good question. Like every attempt has kind of sucked
