The singers and guitarists get all the love. And the drummer is always praised for "driving the band."

You could have a band with just a singer, a guitarist and a drummer. And it would still be insufficient rock and roll (despite the drums).

What about the bassist? He appears to be the soul of the band.

Yes a bass player is a very important part of the band mainly because the bass player keeps the rhythm of the song going for the most part , also the drummer and guitar player usually plays off of what the bass player is playing

As a bassist, definitely. Think about Sting, Paul McCartney and John Deakin. The Police, The Beatles and Queen would have been very different without their input both on stage and some of their iconic songs.

Yes, they're an important part of a band and often underrated. They might not be the instrument that carries the melody but (to me, anyway) they're like a foundation under the other instruments. It makes it a richer sound.

Bassist are one of the most important members of the band. Without a bassis the band sounds stale and boring. The bassist makes everyone else shine while being invisible.

All good bands have at least adequate to really good bassists, but the great bands all have great bass players. I can't think of a single top tier act that doesn't have a great bass player, can you?

They're quite useless to be honest. You can barely hear their instrument and they never get any solos. You could go onstage without the base player and no one would even notice the difference. They are the most expendable member of the band.
