So many good things about DG.
For one thing, they often will pull a kid up on stage who is a musician, and let them play with the band - and a lot of these young kids are shockingly good. One kid was about 10, and played the guitar, and he could play the FF songs great. Dave actually sent him home with his guitar. For these young aspiring musicians, to have a big band do this for you - to support some unknown kid - has to be beyond amazing.
The FF also have the best band rider I've ever seen. For those who don't know, when a band goes out on tour, they have a "rider" - an extension of their performance contract where the band lays out what they need for themselves and their crew. While some promotors and venues do a great job, others skimp out, often leaving the band and crew (the crew especially, as they are stuck at the venue, and totally reliant on it for everything) with inadequate food, drinks, or other supplies. The FF's rider not only gives a list of things that they need, but they EXPLAIN *why* they need them, in detail but also with a great sense of humor, and they even come with hand-drawn artwork from the band to help explain things. I've seen lots of riders, but nothing comes close to theirs.
Third, Dave and the band never have a problem making fun of themselves, and they never take themselves too seriously. They're known to be incredibly generous to other bands, and overall have a fantastic reputation as PEOPLE in the industry - an industry that has MORE than its share of prima donnas and all-out assholes.
I wouldn't say I'm the hugest FF fan, though I definitely like a number of their songs, and I've seen them in concert twice. I was a bigger Nirvana fan. But I've never known anyone who had a bad thing to say about DG, and I've paid attention. In 30 years, to still have a solid reputation means there has to be a lot of truth there.
Yes he is an amazing person, never mind being brilliant musician with some amazing groups. He does a load for charity, from homeless to autism and more. He also had a girl called Nandi drumming with Nirvana after some social media bits over lockdown.

I think most days he’s on a stream I’m playing either in car or air pods when working.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/OZBQW2gE0EwI have met him and he is a nice guy. However, I am not a fan of any band he has played in. I would rather cut my ears off than ever listened to Nirvana or Foo Fighters.
✂️ start cutting ✂️
I don’t know much about him as a person, but I love Foo Fighters. I’m seeing them live in concert next weekend 😄

I like him best as a drummer and singer. He's an intense, hard driving drummer and just puts it all out there. I like some Foo Fighters stuff, certainly not all. I really like that Grohl is well versed in rock n roll history and understands just how great and important bands like the Beatles were.
I can't find verification for this next thing, which may be an urban legend. I was once told that Grohl said: "If I wrote songs like Cheryl Crow, I'd kill myself". LOL
I thought that was great! LOL
Dave Grohl is the man. I've been a Foo Fighters fan for a loooong time. And Dave is just a cool human.

The music is fine, I bought a book that he wrote and my perception of him as a human and an artist was elevated a bit.
The song that changed the world. After that, it's irrelevant.
@Nikki1989 Well, it did, actually. Not only did it introduce us to grunge, but it also re-energized rock music which, outside of (good) metal, had gone a bit stale in the 1980s. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Alice in Chains's "Man In The Box" were a wake-up call. Dave Grohl, as part of Nirvana, was a part of that.
I am not a big Foo Fighters fan although they have nice music.
However, Green Day sucks.
I've had root canals.
Listening to Green Day is more painful.
How Green Day is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is one of the great mysteries of life like "Why is there no Channel 1?" although, I realize, to modern kids, that question may seem meaningless.
Had no idea about his name, but I do recognize him; Seems like a legend
A living legend. Nirvana and Foo Fighters 👌
Nirvana was great, but Kurt was the heart and soul.
FF is meh, so DG is too.
The best thing face grol did was sun for Nirvana
Everlong is one of my favorite songs ever!

I only like one of their songs, that's it
That's insane
@NathanDavis That is one more than me. Ha!
Yes he is a great person and artist.
He's ok. He's got good music
Never heard of him or the Foo Fighters
Unbelievable
Must be rock cause I hate it just a bunch of screaming
That's blatantly false
Not to me. People like what they like I'm not into that sound like a lot of noise for the most part I like some rock but not much
