They basically retconned away the entire preceding series. The Rebels sacrificed to defeat Palpantine once and for all? Nope, he was just one of many clones. Luke evolved and grew as a person to recognize that evil is defeated by peace, not aggression? Nope, he was going to murder his nephew in his sleep. It's like instead of respecting the works that came before, they decided to torch the past to make room for the new era.
Episode 7 was watchable, but doing ANOTHER Death Star was just stupid. So was the Mary Sue stuff with Rae. Daisy Ridley is a talented performer and her character could have been so much better with more flaws and a more believable heroes journey.
Episode 8 was a plot-hole train wreck that made no sense whatsoever and left the franchise nowhere to go.
Episode 9 was desperately trying to fix the mess that Rian Johnson left for them and it mostly failed.
Rogue One had some pretty great moments, and I liked that they wanted to tell a story that didn't revolve around Jedi, instead showing the human-level view of life in the Empire.
I mostly hated Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The Kenobi series had some good moments.
The Mandalorian had some fantastic moments and is probably the best thing to come out of the Disney era. But it too had its share of flaws.
If degraded means dead, then yes. Disney killed Star Wars. They also killed Marvel, but that's another story.

... do you really have to ask?
Really?
Depends: Canon has degraded!
But there is also some good stuff. So if you make your own canon with existing things it has improved. Also note that without disney we can't say if anything new star wars would have happend at all.
it was perfect under george Lucas's ownership, it was his brainchild and his baby, and he lost all of that when Disney took it over, he needs it back
Fairness, now- the prequels were FAR from devoid of problems, and the Holiday Special isn't exactly "good". It was unquestionably BETTER under Lucas than under these people who think "Elliade" is some kind of Mexican pasta sauce, but it was far from perfect.
Every star wars fan would prefer this, but the thing is he sold it, he didn't need the money, which means he sold it because he didn't want to be bothered with it anymore.
It went from brain child, to lets just steal stories from fans to build the expanded universe, to "I quit".
I think he just ran out of ideas or simply lost interest in it.
Both.
The last 3 movies are bad, but the live action shows and the cartoons are good.
star wars 2015 was popular but they failed to invest new concepts in the newer.
It is garbage. It is just rip off. Same for the Marvel movies.
Become a positive influence for the prequel trilogy. Except for that phantom menace shit.
They've made too many films and shows
Other, I can't say that improved, nor degraded.
Was it EVER good?
