The keyword being ROCK here.
I attended my first concert in 1970 and went to hundreds during that decade. I saw every great band and so many mind blowing performances. I couldn't begin to pick one in particular.
Maybe Jethro Tull's "A Passion Play" tour. Or Yes' "Tales of Topographic Oceans" tour.
Or the night that Led Zeppelin performed so incredibly that the audience refused to leave and forced them to do six encores. For the last encore, they played "Thank You". And when the final note faded, the audience was completely silent because anything after that would have spoiled the mood and been anticlimactic. People just began filing out of the auditorium in stunned silence. I never experienced anything like it.
I've even heard the band members recall that particular night.
The photo you shared was of California Jam. I was there.

Hmmm…of the rock shows…
Roger Waters puts on a very elaborate show, and obviously Pink Floyd music is real solid, so that was a great show.
If they ever get Darcy Wretzky back in the fold, I’d love to see The Smashing Pumpkins again. Saw them was James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlain, so it was 3/4, but something about Darcy’s absence just makes it not totally feel the same.
I’d want to see Greta Van Fleet again too. They were really good, but it was a huge festival, I wasn’t very close to the stage (I’m all about being RIGHT in front, get the full experience), and I knew I was probably going to have to put my cat sleep on the other side of the weekend, so I just wasn’t in the best place to enjoy it.
I’d love to see Rage Against The Machine again, but it sounds like it’s a wrap on them. Saw them at Madison Square Garden two years ago, first time since I was 18, and they were still awesome. Only thing is I was banging out in the mosh pit the whole show, which is fun as hell, but sometimes I leave wishing I paid closer attention.
So now I think I want to see those kinds of bands twice, one time in the pit, one time casually spectating. I saw Rancid last fall and took a headbutt to the temple in the pit, so I was woozy for a lot of the time, but that was a really fun show too, they sounded great, which I think is kind of rare for punk rock, haha. Definitely will check them out next time they’re back around👍
Cliff Richard and The Shadows on their last tour about ten years ago at Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town and Brian Adams later that year at the same venue. Both brilliant gigs because it's a smaller place so it feels more intimate. You can see they're picking out individual faces in an audience of a few hundred rather than being a sea of thousands
I would go to nightwish again. In a few years this will maybe change to iron maiden because seeing them a few times now you sadly realise they are getting older. Sounds bad and dont get me wrong their concerts are still great, but add a few years and you can't be sure how long they tour.
I used to go to Larmer Tree and Womad, both in UK. Both world music fests. My brother was a border morriss dancer, so we used to go to many folk fests like Broadstairs, Rochester Sweeps, Tenterden and several others.
I've been to many concerts in my life. I'd see many artists I've seen multiple times, and have done so. However Springsteen concerts are the only ones I've been to that are consistently over 4 hours long every time, with no intermissions.
Billie Joel or the Rolling Stones (although I will skip their Hackney Diamonds tour if they don’t play their hits as this album seems uninteresting to me. )
I go all the way back to thr beginning. I saw the Rolling Stones. It was the first concert I ever went to. I will never forget it
The Killers! They are in the UK in July and I'm trying to convince my boyfriend, my anxiety and my bank account to let me go :)
The only concert I've ever been to was ozzy Osborne. I don't think he is touring anymore. He's kind of out of it if you've ever seen him on tv
Back in 1999 i believe it was im from des moines iowa and slipknot had kicked off the tatoo the earth tour there was 30 bands there, went to a few nine inch nails concerts that kicked ass
I think it would be Muse.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Xv-2CsBa8eEThe Ozzfest in the late 90s. As far as individual bands I would say Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden in New York.
I think the best live performance I've ever seen (from a music perspective) was Tom Petty.
Pink Floyd in the 90s was pretty wild!
Best concerts I have seen were Cher, Neil Diamond, Shania Twain and Yanni. All fabulous concerts.
