What do you think I should do about my comic heros? Less is more maybe?

I am thinking of ditching my present comic idea and focusing on just 2 or 3 heroes in a more coherent novel of around 350 pages or so. This way I can organize villains into a hierarchy with one main villain in command of it all. What do you think?

Also, I've decided to make the book into a bit of a horror/thriller. The hero characters are going to be absolutely terrifying to behold, even though they will both be "Lawful Good" characters, their interpretation of "Lawful" and "Good" might not be the same as yours or mine.
