What do you think of the Beyoncé Texas Hold ‘Em song?

I just listened to it for the first time, as a fan of older country music I do actually think it’s kinda catchy.

The lyrics of this song are absolutely lousy. They're something an 8-year-old might write.

The thing about country music is that it is built on AUTHENTICITY - people writing about rural life that they actually lead and experience. There's nothing authentic about these songs - it's a grift by someone who doesn't understand what country music is really about. And I'm hardly a big country music fan - I'm just very involved in music in general.

Texas Hold' Em is a great single. I listened to the album twice and I can't stop thinking about some other songs. It's a great piece of Art but I've been a Beyoncé fan since I was on a primary school so I'm a bit suspicious.
