Is YouTube Music better than Spotify?

Spotify becomes very expensive and my friend said I can use youtube music.

I'm pretty sure it's about the same price? I use the "family" plan and split the cost with friends. £17.99 a month split between 6 people. You just have to enter the same address, even though we don't all live together nobody has experienced any issues with that.

I love Apple Music and Pandora. Soon I’m going back to downloading my own music. Companies are making it difficult with their constant price increasing, and horrible ads

Youtube music may have a larger library and it may be cheaper and more convenient, however, if you use it on mobile devices, Youtube music will drain your battery way quicker than Spotify. In this day and age, your phone is everything and you don't want to run out of juice. So I rather pay little extra and not worry about battery issues than switch to YT music.

I prefer to use Spotify for finding new songs. But right now I'm using YouTube music since I already found over 300 new songs on spotify. I'll go back to spotify when I need to find some more obscure songs though.

I do notice the audio quality is better on spotify. But not so much better to where it's a determining factor for why I'd listen on there over youtube.

for selecting specific songs only youtube allows that not spotify.

but for a song "rest time" or background for a picnic, free spotify is good too.

Nothing I listen to has ever made it to a CD unless you count ps1 games which are on CDs.
They also never end up on spotify, pandora, radio stations, etc. Youtube (and sometimes newgrounds) is the only place they exist.

Spotify is superior with multiple users /;family plan. But yt has better controls / choice / playlist features.

Yes, the music in random youtube videos is MUCH better than whats on spotify. Plus its free.

So apparantly "youtube music" is a streaming app? I wasn't aware of this when answering, and to clarify, I was talking about going on youtube's website via a web browser on a pc, and watching videos with soundtracks and remixes of soundtracks for video games, anime and movies, as well as certain indy artists that are usually only posting videos of their music on youtube and newgrounds.

I don't really listen to popstar or major band music (unless you count orchestras as bands).
