+1 yIndeed it is- good question! Off the top of my head, I'd say Planescape: Torment, but that is, in many ways, more of an interactive book; definitely an experience worth having, but not really what you'd want to show off as a game.
Maybe X-COM, far more of a game as a game, but that's too likely to get mixed with XCOM.
Hmm... I think I'll say Grim Fandango. Not only a compelling story in its own right, but a creative one- supposedly, Tim Schafer sat the team down and said "Okay, time for a new game. We're not doing sci-fi, we're not doing fantasy, and we're not doing the real world; what are we doing?". The result was "an epic tale of crime and corruption in the Land of the Dead", an Art Deco Mictlan. If you can look at these pictures and NOT feel a desire to play it:

then check with your doctor, because you seem to have died- and given the subject matter, that means you should probably play it anyway. Still not convinced? Okay then, try this one, which is the game's progress meter on the save screen:

Just take a minute or two to look at that image. When Manny sees its in-game representation, he quips that it has "all the stuff we didn't put in the brochures!". A fan of the game (as he posted- with pictures!- on a fan site years later) went to Cambodia, where it's common for people to have stone carvings made of their particular religious faith (the country's mostly Buddhist, but it's rather syncretic Buddhism). He had a craving of this mural made, and commented in the forum that the mason looked at him VERY oddly, wondering what planet this guy's religion was founded on.
How many games inspire people to do THAT?

Yes that art style looks amazing, totally it's own thing! I assume it'd have to be available on steam

Yes! The Remastered version, which works natively on modern operating systems, is available on Steam and GOG (and apparently itch. io, too, but I'm not familiar with them).

+1 yI don't think there is one game every should play.
Everyones taste is different and when people are interested in video games they will sooner or later broaden their libary to see why people are praising particular games as masterpieces.
If you are brand new to video games, i would suggest you play particular good games of every genre, or those games which defined entire genres.
Or i would recommend you games based on your interests in boardgames, tvshows, other hobbies...
Eg, if you like D&D i would obviously recommend you try games like Baldurs Gate, Dragon Age, Witcher,...
If you like Gardening, i would recommend you Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, Palia, Sims,...
If you like skateboarding try the obvious Tony Hawk games or Skate

Duck Hunt is the game & if you haven’t played Duck Hunt you are missing out.

Wide appeal, classic, fun and the Hard difficulty is good. The character creator is great especially for its time and the voice actors are distinct from each other but all convey the brutal protagonist well. SR2 is a balance of silly gangster antics and darker consequences of the lifestyle, such as retribution and loss.

Your character's enforcer, undyingly loyal. 00 Reply303 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. No , those addicted to video games live in a world of fantasy , I like people who are able to deal with reality , I'd advise any young person with merit to focus on a pursuit worthwhile.

Yes, I adore Bungie's Halo trilogy
- +1 y
I'm indifferent towards Halo 2. I never got around to playing Halo 3.
Doom II though... golden. - +1 y
Doom (2016) was my intro to that whole series, and then I've only ever played the original doom.
Halo 2 is my favorite of those three, or it could swap places with Combat Evolved on any day. I love the duel perspective shown in Halo 2 and I'm a total fan girl for the Arbiter.
Admittedly, 3 is the weakest of the three story wise. - +1 y
From what I know of the 2016 game, it's trash. I mean... an immortal warrior kept in stasis until the demons break out? That's a silly premise.
Yea nice first question, I would suggest Total War: Warhammer 3, it's an good game. :)

But we need to not be so harsh on gamers. I think it’s helped increase the IQ of young people.12 Reply- +1 y
I agree, let's not be too harsh. To me, videogames are just another medium for story telling, just like books and movies.
