Nope. All you have to do is look at how the game works and relative value of the pieces. The king can never be captured or traded. Everyone else is expendable. Pawns are worth 1 point, minor pieces like Knights and Bishops are worth 3 points, the Rooks are worth 5 points, and the Queen is worth 9 points... But the King is always the King and nobody else can be the King, because the King is priceless. Just because you run a lot of errands, doesn't mean you have more value.

Obviously chess wouldn't be much of a game if the king was the most powerful piece and if it could move as the queen does it would be too difficult to checkmate. Chess reflects the importance of the king as commander.
