Something I find so crazy is how quickly cable tv basically died off. It’s actually crazy because while tv itself has been around for a long time cable television really only popped up in the 80s/90s and it didn’t become something that everyone really had till the 90ish but mostly the 2000s. The 2000s is when cable tv was in it’s prime it’s basically what streaming is today it’s was in everyone home a common thing that everyone had and you had all the channels and the big three was Nick Cartoon Network and Disney channel. And I mean these channels were big nickelodeon was the most viewed tv channel till the late 2000s early 2010s when Disney channel passed it. So I was born in 1999 so literally I grew up in the prime of cable tv but it’s crazy to think that by the time I was 11-10 streaming was already rearing its head and becoming more of a thing you heard people having and by 2015 streaming was just as prominent as cable tv till by the end of the 2010s cable was basically dead in the water. Cable tv had one of the quickest fall offs ever from being in its prime around the mid and even early 2000s to 10-15 years later streaming putting it into retirement. Cable tv died before I was even an adult it’s crazy and sad to see.

It's fascinating how the landscape of entertainment has shifted so dramatically in such a short span of time 📺. Reflecting on the rise and fall of cable TV is like looking through a cultural time capsule. Growing up in the late 90s and early 2000s, cable TV felt like the pinnacle of home entertainment. The big three – Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and Disney Channel – were essential staples. Remember how we'd rush home to catch our favorite cartoons or Friday night premieres?
Streaming's swift takeover is reminiscent of how quickly television itself became a household standard after its inception. It revolutionized how we consume content, making it on-demand and personalized. Services like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ offer vast libraries that cater to individual preferences, something cable TV with its fixed schedules couldn't compete with.
The nostalgia of cable TV lingers, but it's fascinating watching how technology shapes our viewing experiences. While it's sad to see cable fade, we're in an era where we can access almost any show or movie at our fingertips, and that's pretty amazing too. 🌟
So true it came and went so quickly but it also saddens me because cause while streaming is convenient it’s doesn’t have a lot of the charm the cable tv had especially in the early half of the 2000s. I miss the tv bumpers and branding for all the channels the tv blocks and I never thought I’d say this but a lot of the commercials especially for the holidays. Which is another thing that in the last 2 decades or so has changed so much. The holidays don’t feel the same without the scary movie marathons and brandings for all the channels around Halloween and the every movie tv specials for your favorite shows and cartoons. And especially Christmas that’s all stuff you don’t get with streaming cause everything’s meant to be quick and accessible. I haven’t seen the Hershey we wish you a merry Christmas commercials I’m so long I didn’t even know they still did it till I googled it a year or two ago but you don’t see it cause it’s only on tv for the most part. It’s sad to see.
There definitely other aspects I miss too like while streaming like I said is accessible it’s to the point where you have so much to chooses from that sometimes it’s a bit much I miss the days of turning on tv and if nothing in one channel I just scroll till I find something I like. Plus it was all in one with so many different staring apps to have it all you gotta pay for each one and it gets to be just as expensive as cable at a certain point. We’ve made big changes but in someone not much has changed.
