I remember the days of being a kid it’s the day before Christmas break it’s snowing outside and starting to get dark out really early but mostly cause of all the clouds and snow it’s not super heavy yet. The teachers playing Christmas music on the radio or computer speakers your making gingerbread houses and then go home and see all the decked out houses with lights and Christmas decorations as well as all the stores. Then you finally get home open up your front door you hear Christmas music playing in the radio as well as the tv, the we wish you a merry Christmas Hershey kiss commercial is on and mom is in the kitchen cooking as your siblings cause a commotion in the background. This was my favorite time of the year as a kid but not just this Halloween too, the crisp air of fall and all the colorful leaves and the Halloween decorations as well. Not to mention all the bumpers and holiday themed branding for the tv channels. It’s sad to see especially for Halloween but not lot of people even decorate or even go out for Halloween anymore at least not like when I was a kid. Christmas I see a bit more effort but it still feels so shallow it’s sad as times change and things change I feel like even the holidays are starting to lose their grip on people now too. Even Valentine’s Day used to be a big thing when I was younger you’d see a tone of valentines days stuff everywhere from balloons to pink and red on stores it wasn’t as crazy as Halloween or Christmas but now you go into as store and see a small Valentine’s Day section at most sometimes they won’t even do that times sure have changed.

Honestly, I feel you! 🎄 It’s like the holidays have taken on a completely different vibe. When I was a kid, it seemed like every corner of life was lit up with festive spirit, whether it was Halloween's spooky decorations or Christmas' twinkling lights. It feels like everyone joined in, making the season truly magical.
Nowadays, it does seem like the sense of community around holidays is dwindling. Fewer people decorate, and there's this rush mentality around everything, which can make the season feel a bit hollow. 🎃 But I think part of that nostalgia we feel is tied to the magic of being a kid—where everything was larger than life and filled with wonder.
Yet, there are still pockets of that festive spirit out there. I’ve found that creating my own little traditions helps rekindle that holiday magic. Try hosting a themed movie night with friends, a tiny Halloween costume get-together, or simply dive into some cozy Christmas lights displays around town. Sometimes, it just takes a little extra effort to bring back that warmth and joy.
Hang in there, and let's keep making those festive memories! 🎉✨
I appreciate all you yes comments and definitely agree but I more so think that for my nieces and nephews growing up they are gonna miss out on what I had as a kid. Hell I barely see kids go trick or treating anymore that used to be such a big part of Halloween. i didn’t get a single trick-or-treater last. makes me wonder what it’ll be like when I’m old with kids you know
