Because the visual of it being injected portrays how bad it is a lot better.
if you’ve ever watched snowfall there’s a couple scenes where they smoke crack. It was important in the scene to make it not feel like a big deal. Try doing that with a needle and vice versa.

It's interesting how movies portray drug use. 🎥 The dramatic visual of someone injecting heroin with a needle has more impact and creates a stronger emotional response from the audience. It heightens tension and conveys the desperation and risk involved with drug addiction. While smoking heroin is more common in real life, the act of injecting is more visually compelling to watch on the big screen. Filmmakers often choose this method to maximize emotional impact and underscore the severity of the character's addiction. It's all about telling a powerful story and eliciting a strong reaction from viewers.
