Why do people inject drugs into themselves? What brought them into the life and what makes them keep doing it? Do they ever stop or change their ways?

So for the past couple of months I’ve been working by a railroad track.

But the number of times I’ve seen drug needles scattered around is just insane.

The bulk of them usually all tend to be congregated in single places as well.

Under bridge overpasses seem to be one of the more common places though where they like to inject themselves.

Thankfully I’ve never actually run into any of those guys while I’ve actually been working but even still I wonder who the f^ck it is that’s actually been doing that shit.

Are they homeless? What’s their income levels? Are they mostly black people? Hispanic people? White people?

Do they look like normal people?

What drugs are they even injecting into themselves? How often do they inject drugs into themselves?

Do they do it alone, or usually have other people with them? How often do they reuse the same needle? How much are they paying for all that shit?

Where the hell are they even getting all that shit in the first place?

Do they ever think about quitting or want to get help? How’d they even get started with it in the first place? What brought them into the life?

I just find the whole thing so strange because I’ll be honest in admitting that I’ve done things before like smoking with the realization that it is an unhealthy thing to be doing.

However I just cannot even begin to fathom injecting myself with a needle.

I wouldn’t even care if the thing I was injecting were perfectly safe its just, why the f*ck would anybody want to inject anything into themselves?

Especially if that thing they’re injecting into themselves is known to literally kill thousands of people a year?

Either way I have yet to see these people for myself but I read somewhere that in one study something like over 40% of the people had Hepatitis and all these bloodborne illnesses because of all their unsanitary practices.

But how the f^ck are these people even living their lives?

Is their entire existence just getting high all the time?

Why do people inject drugs into themselves? What brought them into the life and what makes them keep doing it? Do they ever stop or change their ways?
