Your favorite Disney Animated movie from the Renaissance era part 1?

This is one of the most popular and most loved era’s, even to this day. The films included in this era are The Little Mermaid, The Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, and Tarzan. The company was able to master the type of animation they were working on called xerography, and they once again reverted back to Walt’s original formula which was to have a princess movie, and tell a classic tale in a new way. Each successful era was started by a Disney princess movie. The films in this era did extremely well in the box office and are still popular with children today. This was also the start of bringing Disney films to Broadway stages.

I would’ve initially went with beauty and the beast cause I loved yellow wanted to be a smarty and felt I looked like her more than the others. I liked the idea of it, but in reality it was sexually disturbing. The saloon/ pub lassies and the one mean guy. His lack of hygiene and respect. The aggression from the beast towards belle and the idea of held against will. Belle not being too independent and being with her father or grandfather, and you don’t see her with any friends really. And then when the beast transformed he looked like a girl to me and just really wasn’t my type, but like 3/4s of the movie was all this gasped tensed feeling and only the last part of the movie was it sweet really (for me), so while I saw this and made her my princess as a kid (since my sisters took the other ones as their favorites), I really can’t throughly choose her as one of my favorites. I mean SHE is but the movie/storyline really isn’t. :[

If it was princess then she’d be right up there, but for movie, it’s definitely going to be last of my list up there 👆 🔝 ^^.

Update: love them too but feel sad about the Aussie mouse getting in the way of the main two and the hunter grossed me out as well as his lizard, the boy annoys me, and his mom bothers me that she wasn’t supervising her son. I don't know something about the problem of the boy seemed like it could’ve been avoided. Wish he was a little older to be getting lost and saving wild animals. Maybe that’s supposed to be a movie about Steve Irwin or something 😂

Aladdin. This was truly a hard one but I had to go with the one I could watch over and over again and that is the one I can just watch repeatedly. Not that I couldn't watch the Lion King over and over again but Robin Williams R. I. P. made Aladdin what it is which was/is just a masterpiece!

As I said on a prior answer, the movie “The Little Mermaid” is my favorite movie of all time. Period, end of story.

I think to me it was because it was the story of a little girl who wanted to escape the privileged world in which she was living and where the situation she was in, was just intolerable! She longed to live somewhere else, in another world. Somewhere were a handsome Prince who would take care of her, hold her in his arms and always make her feel safe. I really related to that when I was a little girl living through the nightmare of sexual abuse that I was being forced to endure! Ariel, gave up her voice to obtain the safety of legs that allowed her to leave her kingdom. To me it was just leaving that estate, and escaping anywhere. It was why I was SO excited to leave England and move to America… Unfortunately, my uncle showed up a few months later and I was right back in the “ocean" with “fins" again. That was a nightmare. But The Little Mermaid always gave me hope that I would somehow escape him someday! Too bad it took so fckn’ long! 😞

I voted for The Lion King, but Aladdin is also one of my favourites. Robin Williams will always be remembered as one of the greatest actors to have ever appeared on film. May he rest in peace.
