I mean yes and no, it really depend on if you're able to imagine things or not, I know that depending on the books there's some I cannot get into and cannot imagine anything so I'm not "hallucinating" anything.
But then I guess is it similar to dreaming or making scenario in your head when you're bored (I did this all the time when I was a child in school I looked at the board and imagined story cause I was too bored).
For the book is it not so much the same because you're only "hallucinating" what the authors tell you to imagine, i would say is it the same if you read a bit f the book then let it go to look at your bedroom floor while imagining things because a part of the book made your think of a scenario but if not I don't think that reading and imaging what he author tell you to imagine is the same things. It's similar but not exactly the same either.
Not exactly. Hallucinations are far stronger than visual images and scenes conjured by reading. But it's a fun quote! :D
You could try reading while smoking pot, I suppose...
It is the author being poured into a world of their own creation being conveyed in their unique perspective in characters that were birthed & spewed upon the pages. It is art, seeing it simply as a dead tree / hallucination is missing the author breathing life into their world.
An interesting way of looking at it despite me saying no.
Haha, creative but I don't think that's accurate. Unless perhaps you are on shrooms and actually seeing what your reading. But most people have a barrier between fantasy and reality.
Nope.
People who say that have never read good literature.
I'd say it's opposite ๐
Wth ๐ญ bro go read some Tolstoy
When an author is really good with descriptions to the point where they can paint a clear image in your head, I would call that "good literature" lol.
Okay true
You see what you see - that is not an hallucination.
Reading books is pointless (except the Bible)
LOL brother you're not helping your fellow theists ๐
No, no, no, no... this is bad. You must be joking, LOL.
