It makes me feel sad knowing that the heroes of my youth are being lost. But, in a way, they will live on longer than the rest of us as the movies will give generations to come a reason to keep their memories alive.
I still have books, posters, and other memorabilia from when I was a kid and these movies were just coming out. I still have, packed away, 7 of the Burger King Star Wars glasses (one got broken during a move, sadly). The impact that these movies had on audiences and the movie business alike was like nothing anyone had seen before and will likely never see again. If movies were ranked by the number of tickets sold, rather than the dollar value of the tickets sold (the latter of which guarantees there will always be a constant stream of new recordholders), then Star Wars (A New Hope) would be the #1 movie likely until the end of time. In adjusted 2024 dollars, it would have made around $4B at the box office - and that's with a FAR smaller international audience than today.
That is a cool picture. Who is the man in the tie?
That would be David Prowse
That is Peter Mayhew aka chewbacca
lol I sent the link to this to someone by accident and they just got the image only and asked me if I had meant to send it and what it wasâŚ
I said yeah it was an accident and havenât answered the question yet cause I never seen the films and though I want to, this image is still odd in nature 😂.
The green alien-like auras give it a weird vibe. I love the cast, especially Harrison Ford for the other movies I know him in, but the image is weird. I do get they passed on and THAT fact being highlighted here and brought to attention is sad for them, the beloved actors and actress, but itâs also a negative thing to somewhat focus on and even construct as an online image that just doesnât go away. Perhaps a different color wouldâve been better. The glowing green is just not the best at conveying wholesomeness, and the âin loving memoryâ tone, Iâm sure was intended.
An image like this could be good to review or share with others when the time comes for the film anniversary or their birthdays. Maybe even in the month of may, since of the âMay the 4th / force be with youâ trend. Not sure when this would be appropriate. Itâs a fact of life. Itâs a fact of our world, but it is sad. Itâs needs balance. Instead of hiking bring loss, why canât appreciation also be conveyed or a true sense of inspiration. This way we can know what they left, but also appreciate whatâs been given and offered by them. Whatâs been generously left behind as a gift đ.
Very sad.. and it makes me feel old.. now I wanna do a Star Wars marathon😆
i'll bring the popcorn lol
1 through 6 or are you watching that Disney abomination too?
@Still-alive Haha we will definitely need more than popcorn!!
@Miristheiss nope not the Disney ones.. well possibly Rogue One.. can't help it, I loved that one!!
we need more ruthless killer Darth Vader in our star wars so i did like Rogue One too
Oh, youâre tugging at my heartstrings here! Any emotional Star Wars scene or image always brings a flood of feelings for dedicated fans like me. Whether itâs a nostalgic moment with an iconic character or a tragic scene, it certainly strikes a chord. Star Wars has this incredible way of creating deep emotional connections through its storylines and characters, making us feel like weâre part of that galaxy far, far away. 💫â¨

As long as Yoda is still alive, our universe will be just fine.
Luke is going to outlive them all! He may be the only one who was never able to really make bank, but he'll have the last laugh!
Disney may as well have murdered them all by the way they've desecrated the franchise since their very first movie.
Pretty sad that almost everyone is gone
Just two left of the main cast :(
I was in my moms womb while she stood in line to see return of the jedi heh
Sad. RIP James Earl Jones. 😢
Really cool editing job.
