I was a late-teen, early 20s when I lived in The Golden Age of Video Games. Back then, video games in arcades and businesses (like in restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores, etc.) were superior, dedicated machines to the games involved. The home systems were vastly inferior. For example, I was very good at Asteroids when playing a stand-up cabinet machine in an arcade or wherever. But, when Atari came out with their home system and I played Asteroids, it was a terrible experience. The controls were awkward (and general since the system was designed for multiple Atari games) and the graphics, while colored, where bad compared to the arcade machines. That soured me on home systems for the rest of my life.

That said, I do play games on my laptop, but these are not the action-packed, MMORPG or any other "story" games. I prefer more traditional games and puzzles.

But, bottom line, I have never purchased a home gaming system and never will.

Actually thanks for this opinion because I don't know any people, in your age range, able to talk about their relation to video-games. So I find it interesting, especially how the technological imbalance between home and arcade VG affected you.

The SNES is the one we had. But I got my own Gameboy advanced when I was 4 or 5, I think. If that one counts.

We had other ones along the way. Gamecube (was my oldest sisters), Nintendo DS, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and then finally the Nintendo Switch. Other things were the Playstation 2.
