Why do sh! tty films rake in so much overseas?

i loved the great wall! i suggest you watch it if you haven't. i don't know if it was made here or there, but i know American actors will go there to make foreign movies. the American actor in these foreign films is a huge draw for their box office.

i don't remember skyscraper much. probably a shitty rock film. but still, those foreigners love American actors

Lmao no. Hollywood isn’t the end-all, be-all of entertainment standards. The Great Wall actually wasn’t a terrible movie, saw it in theaters way back when. It was fun to explore the Chinese mythology in that piece of fiction, and that mythology is probably why it did so well in China. They don’t often get a lot of love from Hollywood these days.

For the same reason most current popular music is so banal. Executives find what a lot of people tolerate and use that formula. This is why I listen to mostly old music and watch old films and television series.
