Are people so sensitive now Disney has to put a warning label on old movies being streamed?

Society is constantly on the strive to scrub History clean and not tell it like it was. Dirty angry and very short lives.

Disney has many old movies that depict how life "WAS" how feelings were. Several older movies have been edited and changed cause of modern feelings.

How ever many still want to warn adults about things and include warnings! Things which kids won't ever realize. This is for the parents watching and putting on the older Disney movies.

Have we gotten to sensitive? Should history be scrubbed clean?

Remove anything close to being a trigger or a nod to the past and how things were. Kids can never know how good they have it.

Disney needs to put more warnings on G rated movies for racism! It's not enough!

History is that a constant battle at the moment are being erased from everyone's education. I became a parent in the early 90s when the thing to do was to stop child abuse and put are babies in big giant bubble wrap and send them to the park to be by themselves with 100 security cams watching them and a baseball bat to hit any guy who got even close to them. Now what did that lead to? Ten years later, after giving people in the military little cards that they could wave at any time and get out of the 150 years of training that would enable them to protect our country as our forefathers did. Anybody remember the event when I say four planes and box cutters?
Right after that, the world's per diem changed. It was a major change and exactly what we were doing and what we needed to do. We started correcting what was wrong. Now our military force has never had attack on US soil since then. In fact, if the history books didn't scrub away the truth, you would have already known that this was only the second attack on US soil since the establishment of the armed forces.
Think about all the things that people fought for merely 10 years ago, that are now being once again rescinded because people got smarter and realized why we didn't do that in the first place. The human race is constantly learning and relearning. They're willing to try new things, but once again, they go back to what was standard. Why do we get off track? Because the history books are not there, individuals think they got a better environment for their kids without them being reminded of our past, and yet they still fall into the same trap later on and learn it the same way we had to.
Case in point and the reason why I brought up the two attacks on US soil. The military let down their guard and our enemy saw our weakness in both cases. Both incidences were able to succeed because we thought everything was working out. Nobody thought it was out of the ordinary until the very last moment before it was executed.
The first event started with a telephone call to the Hawaiian islands to an Asian clerk. It was a question on how the weather was like. The man who answered the phone thought it was kind of strange it was not the typical phone call he would receive. The second indication something was wrong was a whole fleet of Japanese ships right on the edge of the radar…. On December 7th at 4:00 AM.
By noon, the USA was on full alert and news was getting back to the mainland to watch out for anything suspicious. By September 11th, 39 years later, we Once again forgot our history that anything could happen….

Um kids can absolutely realize, and adults also cared back then, the other adults just didn't care. You think nobody noticed the racism in old Disney movies, just because it was successful "back then"? Lots of racist things were popular in the past, despite still being racist and still being identified as racist by people at the time, who either simply didn't care, didn't speak up, or did speak up and weren't listened to.

Do you really think its bad to put a warning on children's movies for things that parents may not want their own children to see right then? Personally I think it's a good thing—I even think it would be good for all movies! And apparently so do other people, because THIS IS DONE FOR ALL MOVIES. It's why they have an AGE RATING and the reason for that rating often listed AS A WARNING before the movie or even a trailer of the movie plays. Clearly you know this because you reference "G rated movies."

Are you just upset that some of the rating practices have changed with the times? Why? Did you get this upset when you found out the rules had already been changed from "moral vs immoral" ratings to simply "informative" ratings?

Your degrading an old move cause they don't want to spend the money to change it. Though they are only doing it so the new movie sells. It sucked so more free publicity on how they are not racist!

What are you talking about now? How it putting a rating on a movie degrading it?

The key sentence is how life WAS, meaning past tense. There are a lot of movies that aren't shown anymore because they literally are offensive, but I'd prefer, rather than shut them down or alter them, we talk about them or in lieu of that, send warning like the old movie station did with a couple movies with clearly racist characters. It went something like, we are aware of the racism depicted in this film, however, talk about it, discuss it, learn why it's wrong but it doesn't change that this movie is still enjoyed by many for its other content, and for that reason, we present it to you. I think that's fair. People should know that these things are no longer okay and for good reason rather than scrub it all together.

I think Snow White is one of them, warning you about dwarves and "non-consensual" kissing when Prince Charming wakes her up from the poison (by the way the word dwarves is not in the spell check, another woke move).

I think the new Snow White movie is way more offensive than the old one.

For any parent nearly every one knows the movie and what is inside. The warning lable just makes it seem so bad and toxic.

It's a story the brothers from that it is made from needs the warning label!

The new movie so bad! But they make millions from bad movies. So why make something new?

They’ve had this since 2019 / 2020.
Kinda late to the party, or maybe you didn’t realize it because you never had Disney+ to this point. Literally, they put that so everyone knows it was a product of its time and Disney (the brand) doesn’t stand for that racist/sexist stuff of the day.
You can debate whether or not it is good PR or not, I’m just the messenger. I don’t care.

Walt Disney used to have women paint the Cells of animation because he believed “women couldn’t animate” also would fire women at the age of 30+ because that is when their hands start getting ‘weird’ and can’t paint as efficiently as they once did…. Can’t blame them for wanting to distance themselves however their remakes are stale compared to the original magic that is 2D Animation.

There's a difference between deletion and putting labels on things to give people a "heads-up".
Putting the Surgeon General's warning on a pack of cigarettes doesn't "scrub" cigarettes out of existence.

Unfortunately, you are too young to be aware of this, but it will hit you when you get older...

Each generation is brought up in a different set of circumstances, so the value systems and awareness of reality will be sculpted by that. Without some form of context and/or having accurate historical knowledge, many events from the past will be incompatible with the present.

For instance, you have no knowledge of what life was like before the Internet.
Let's pretend it's 1975, 50 years ago. You are driving your car to a place a few hours away and which you have never been to before. While you are not lost, you are on some backroad about 75 miles from your destination and your car breaks down. What are you going to do?

I was alive in 1975. I know exactly how preparing for this trip and then executing it including dealing with the broken car would play out. I can survive because I understand the universe of 1975.

How would you plan for this trip and get by in the event your car breaks down on a backroad?

Agree most older movies are better! New ones now stink most of the time. The avengers was good cause the comics were great. Chopped up weirdly and edited. Then you had great actors who at the end just wanted to have fun. The comics always end dark and bad.
