Where (you could get easily famous/rich) through descendants or lineage or some trait that you posses but choose to stay private?

Could you explain what you mean by descendants/lineage? Are you referring to your family being wealthy/well-established in a certain field with connections connections, but choosing a different career path?

I was once offered with a job with a fairly good salary, because it wasn't my thing, as it bored me to death, much to the dismay of my family

I don't want to be famous, but wealth is something that would make my life much easier. My family is decently wealthy, enough to live comfortably (richest 1%, but on the low end), so I'm not wanting for anything, but more wealth would be best.
