Do you actually enjoy Irish music, or does it annoy you too?

Me personally doesn’t care for it whatsoever, even though I have some Irish in me and I enjoy St. Patty’s Day , I can so go without Irish Music , it honestly sounds annoying to me over anything else. how about you? Do you like it or not?

I don't listen to Irish/Celtic music very often but I like it.

I love Irish rebel songs and pub songs.
From 2005 to 2020, there was a large Irish ceilidg in our town and I was always invited to play a half hour set of those kinds of songs. I played guitar and sang. I would get an accordionist, mandolin player, penny whistle player and harmony vocalists.

I also like Irish folk music - acoustic guitar, accordion, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, penny whistle, bodhrán, harmony vocals.
There is an annual Celtic festival at our fairgrounds where they host the greatest bands from around the world. I've seen bands that totally whoop ass.

I grant you that session music can quickly get monotonous even if the musicians are really good. I have sat in on a few of those. Here's an example

My wife has some CDs of Celtic music that she listens to in her car. She tends toward mellow stuff.

Oh, I hardly have any Irish at all but I absolutely love some of the Celtic Irish music and I find the Irish River Dancing just beautiful. 🍀 So, I guess we won't meet in the same bar! 🤣

I actually like a lot of Irish music, but in small doses 😂 Traditional stuff like fiddles, tin whistles, and pub songs can be really fun live, especially with dancing and a crowd. Some modern Irish artists are amazing too. But I get you – if I’m not in the mood, it can feel super repetitive and noisy. It’s definitely vibe-dependent for me ☘️🎶

I can listen to it for a few songs but it gets on my wick after a short while, partly because my 2nd girlfriend was rather heavily into it and it now bores me because of that spate of time in my life.
Certain types of music, even though I may like them and can tolerate them even I don't like them as much, start to get to me after a while. I LOVE reggae but after 3 or 5 songs of it in a row, I'm done for a while. However, I can listen to ska for a good long time and not get bored with it.
I can listen to classical for a while, as long as it makes musical sense but, I can't deal with opera for more than a few minutes.
I love Texas Swing but country, itself, bores me after a few songs. I don't even bother with modern country! It's all show and cowboy hats and no talent.
I like metal from the `60's through early `80's but, after that, it's all bullshit. Almost all of the modern genres are fucking awful!!

I like it actually. I don't know many songs, but the ones I heard, I've spammed replay. They remind me of the Titanic Lower Decks scene. They have that dancing too, I'm happy that they keep this part alive, that culture.

Well, can't go to the bars and stuff quite yet. Anytime I hear it, it is in a movie and fits the theme so don't really think much about it.

If that was playing while I was at a party or bar when legal, I'd be annoyed.

Celtic Woman, who sings many Irish songs, is one of my favorite groups. I was on a cruise last year where Mairead Nesbitt (formerly of Celtic Woman) played her fiddle with several Irish tunes. Most enjoyable.

I love Irish pub music. It was popular in the US for a while, and every city had Irish pubs with live music, but it's mostly gone.

I enjoy it in small doses. I love the women singers, and I prefer to hear live Irish music rather than recorded stuff. When you're out a proper Irish pub, it can be a lot of fun for a while.
