You see, when I'm sipping on that steamy cup of cocoa, I like to imagine a dominant goddess pouring a generous pour of spiced rum over her bound and eager slave, me. I'm convinced that originally a man, to avoid an argument with his wife, still wanted to drink some Whisky. What better way to hide this than in a good cup of coffee? And by the way, the taste is nice ;0)

I’m part Irish, but I am not an alcoholic and I don't know how this would be considered only an Irish thing. Even if it could be proven to just be an Irish thing, it’s not something I’d be proud of lol.

Germans love their alcohol too. Many cultures do. So. Why is it just “Irish” it up? 😭 😂

cause it just overpowers the seasonings, spices, and natural flavorings. If it’s too much as well, I’d feel like it could just cause for a non-sober person who will eat/drink just about anything.

The sobriety is crucial for the comprehensive palate appreciation. (in my opinion).

I could see this being like a hot sauce thing. Adding some heat to meals and all. I know some chefs and all use some types of alcohol but it’s like a think line between knowing how the food tastes and not knowing lol 😂

I do not think adding alcohol to drinks makes it taste unique, it just talks like alcohol mixed with coffee or juice or whatever it is you are mixing together. I like cocktails but that is because of the synthetic or varied flavour, not the alcohol itself. I don’t like the taste of alcohol and enjoy non alcoholic beer just as much as regular bear. At restaurants, I used to drink 4 cocktails for the price of one, cause they give you a discount if you get your drink without alcohol.

nope it ruins the drinks n dishes, at least for me

it can overpower n mask the subtle flavors of drinks n food with its with its strong n distinct taste

besides it can contribute to excessive calorie intake n increase the risk of health issues like liver damage n addiction if it becomes a habit

healthy dishes n drinks remain more nutrient-dense n balanced when enjoyed without the addition of liquor🌸

I generally go for a touch of whiskey in coffee (as is standard), but brandy in tea is amazing.

Runchata in coftea is also also a personal discovery that works well.
