Women weren’t a monolith, even in oppressive eras. Making every woman only a victim can be just as flattening as making only men villains.
What matters is nuance: show the constraints of the time, her motivations, and how patriarchy shapes her options. Complex, grounded characters age much better than “girlboss” or “evil witch” clichés. You won’t get cancelled for depth.
