What are your thoughts on IShowSpeed not knowing that Guadeloupe is a French island?

For context, IShowSpeed visited Guadeloupe for 3 hours, as part of a World Record attempt for most countries visited in a single livestream. To do this he visited Dominica, Guadeloupe, St. Kitts and Nevis before arriving on St. Martin where he collapsed from exhaustion.

In Guadeloupe he was greeted by a massive crowd, and someone from the tourism board organized for him traditional drumming, tire rolling, whipping, a foot race, eating a bokit, a visit to the slavery museum and the local KFC, and a jetski trip to Le Gosier Island..

The stream was repordedly viewed by 53 million people, and most Guadeloupans praised him for donning the pro-independence flag and introducing the island to people who've never heard of it. However, many also criticized him and the tourism board for not showing more of Guadeloupe's natural beauty.

Surprisingly however, no one, even the locals he met, called him an "idiot" for not knowing they speak French and that Guadeloupe is part of France. Now imagine in Trump made a gaffe like this, he would be the laughing stock of the world, no one seemed bothered by Speed's stupidity.

But is THIS really the person they want introducing their island to the world and to be a roll model for young people?

I have zero idea who he is but I am amused he wasted his time when he already was going to get France from St. Martin. He could have gotten both Virgin Islands, St. Martin, St Kitts and Antigua in less time and done 6 countries.

He didn't know that. He thought all the islands he was visiting were soveirgn countries.
Or he could have just done it in Europe, and gotten that many in less than 24 hours.
