Do you enjoy hard video games?

I do.

I put a decent whack of time into Dark Souls at one point. Never finished it.

MGSV springs to mind as another example. The story is easy to advance, but getting S tier for everything takes a while.

Mostly games these days are designed for the casual gamer. Those that apply themselves see their power increase exponentially while enemies increase linearly, even at the hardest levels, making them trivial to beat after the first few hours.

Sometimes but, I might get so into it, I might end up breaking the machine. I was playing Pac-Man at a friend's house one night and snapped the joystick right off the controller.

Nope. I barely play any games at all, usually just some party games with others.

I used to watch my brother play some of them which was fun but wouldn't wanna play them myself.

No. Generally I don't like games which are super difficult to beginning but totally easy at the end.

I do, but in a very specific way 🎮
Games like Dark Souls feel like art to me: world-building, atmosphere, music, enemy design, all so intentional. I love slowly learning boss patterns, like choreographing a fight scene in a movie.

Contra-style difficulty is fun in short bursts, but Soulsborne games hook me more because the challenge feels cinematic and emotional, not just punishing 💀✨
