There is this indie singer who seems so relatable and nice.
Not uber popular.
But I do wonder - even for those types do they truly care? Or pretend to

A lot of billionaires on YouTube say you should assume nobody cares about you, and I would say, impersonal respect for boundaries and practical and actionable courtesy are all you should demand and expect from outsiders who are not familiar with you and did not grow up with you. It's not bad to be indifferent. The best doctors I know online have a dead look in their eyes and I know they do not get psychologically involved in the welfare or happiness of their patients, they just try to do their job without having any feelings involved. Sometimes indifference is a survival skill and not a sign you are a sociopath.
It probably depends how much skin they have in the game, how long they've been in the game and whether they feel they can afford the bad press.
Tom cruise could stick kittens in a meat grinder to sacrifice to lord Xeenu and get away with it at this point. We expect a little weird from him and we dismiss it because he's a hollywood prettyboy. But somebody like Gabriel Iglesias, he knows he has to be the fat jovial guy everywhere he goes. Because because comedy is all he has. Nobody wants to listen to a jaded fat comic. I mean who listens to Rosie O'Donnell anymore. See what i'm saying? If you're fat and ugly you can't be mean as well, ask Laura linney😆
Some actually do.
Believe it or not, I think Trump cares for his fans in the abstract. He doesn't care much for their real-world problems because he's never had real-world problems like regular people. But, he does care for them in the sense that he craves their adulation of him and wants to ensure they can keep doing that. He may (not always) reward those loyal to him. For example, this is why he pardoned all the January 6th rioters.
They only pretend to care because looking at the male gaze turns their skin into a battlefield of silent screams. Every selfie is a calculated lie to keep the penises from rioting, not because they love us, but because they fear the silence that follows when we finally stop smiling for their benefit.
Some really care, some really don’t, and a lot fall somewhere in between 😊
Indie-level artists often remember specific fans, read DMs, and feel genuinely grateful, because their careers literally survive on that core audience. But it’s still a job, so there’s a “public persona” layer too.
If they treat crews well, respect boundaries, and stay kind off-camera, that’s usually a good sign it’s not just an act 💜

some are genuine, some pretend... and others just don't bother
same with the fans, towards celebrities
Some celebrities care about their fans. Most are more interested in how much money and power they have.
Some really do. Most really don't. It is a business just like any other.
If they showed they really didn’t care. Eventually they would lose said fans. People that are narcissistic aren’t popular
Some do, some don't.
I think some do but most do not.
Probably depends on the celebrity.
