They’re both terrible. The first looks like discounted 4th rate Temu budget porn that A. I. created with low effort, that you select from the bargain DVD bin by the door at the sex shop arcade…. and the other one is completely devoid of any feeling or concept and feels cold, lonely, and stark. …. Surely you have to have some more to choose from, right?
I wanted to capture the essence of what the story is about with the two bookcovers. The first one looks too AI-ish I know and the second is too bland but it's closer to what I was trying to go for considering the story is a romance story about music.
Ok well, don’t despair… finding a cover should be the easy part, and not be too hard. You’re a smart, clever guy—You just need more options, that’s all. So, What is the essence of the story? (Romance and music?) …well those are very specific and a great place to start from.
Even if it was like a real picture, like random close up of knobs or buttons on a stereo, or like actual headphones (similar to your green one) but just like scattered on the floor or something. Like an idea could be, maybe even blur the background, to deemphasize the importance of it, …follow what I mean? Some kinda dreamy indeterminate city scene, sort of opaque, maybe?
I don’t know, but I feel invested in this now, and want to help.
Thank you. That does sound much better. I can try to find something like that especially since it does take place in two major cities... New York and Los Angeles.
The story is about an 18 year old DJ girl who falls for a lead male singer of a band called Halo at a New York Bar.
Since books are mostly sold online you need a cover that looks good as a thumbnail, even if it will never hang in the louvre. Therefore the second one is better.
Thanks!
I prefer the second... because it appeals more to me and my intrigue...
first one is too busy... and also, too AI... can give the wrong impressions
I like both, it depends on your target audience... what kind of readers are you expecting?
New adult mostly. People that are ages 18-29.
I'm going to have to go with the one with the two people because you can feel the energy coming from that page that it must be a love story
The first looks like it was made with AI, so instant turn-off there.
I went with the 2nd because when a book has people on the cover it eventually looks dated.
I'm more into the clean look of the second one. The font choice and spacing could be better though.
Top one, but I’m not sure what the bottom one means
This one. If I saw a book with head phones on the cover, I would immediately judge it by its cover
One looks AI. The other looks like a stock image that might be included in a picture frame purchase
I like the bottom one better.
Thanks Abby!
Haha. I did vote! And you're welcome @Simslover92.
Probably the first. Is it yours?
Yes it is. Thanks.
Is JE Snow your pen name?
Yes it is.
Thanks!
Hmmmm... how thick is the book?
It's a book online
Well - that calls for a rebellion: ''covers'' in my view belong to physically printed books.
And they belong to the 20th century (the pictury ones, I mean)
Aside of this: Both your suggested pictures point into different topic directions. I find them unclear.
The first one
Thanks!
The one that isn't made with AI
Can't say I'm a big fan of either.
The first one is better
second one
Thank you!
First one
One.

I’d go with the second cover. It feels cleaner and more modern, and the composition is easier on the eyes 📚✨ The colors balance better and it gives off a more “professional” vibe, like something you’d spot in a bookstore display. It’s the one I’d be more likely to pick up first.
