*A take for the G@G parents*
Summer, a time know for vacation and no school for most kids! As a child my summers were spend watching TV 90% of the time. My parents were to occupied to be bothered with fun activities. Now a parent myself, I want my kids to enjoy summer to it's fullest and I want to be an active participant! :)

1. Water fun!

We don't have the awesome privilege to own our own pool. Our only choice is going to the neighborhood pool, crowded with rowdy kids. Definitely not a safe place. Instead, we take out the garden hose and play with water balloons. Never have my kids complained. Parents don't be scared to get wet! With the heat waves we experience a nice cold splash is always welcome!
2. Reading

Just because school is out doesn't mean reading is out. I'm a bookworm and I frequent the public library. My kids always see it as a reward. We go about once a month. Our local library also provides DVD rentals. Something my kids absolutely love.
3. Movie Night

Once in a awhile we'll decide on a good movie to watch. We'll watch it as a family with an abundance of snacks. I allow my kids to choose the movie, a family friendly. And we can't forget the pizza!
4. Video games!

I am not a gamer in any sense of the word. My kids however have taken a liking for the hobby. Occasionally, we'll buy a new game and play as a family. Our most recent game, Mario Party 10! A boardgame, type of video game. I'm a parent that engages in my child's video game play. I'll gladly play as Bowser and try to defeat my little guys 😆
5. New places

Last year I had the opportunity to take my children to the beach for the first time. It was certainly going in the memory book. They learned of a new place and I was there to watch them gain new knowledge. This year I'm planning on taking them to the Aquarium and a children museum.
Enjoy your summer with your kids! :D
