Do and don't of being a good friend

do and don't of being a good friend

DO GIVE YOUR FULL ATTENTION

Nobody likes it when you spent time with someone who’s mind is elsewhere, especially when that other person only has eye for their phone. If you want a good friend give them yoru full attention, listen to what hey say to you with words and without words.

DON'T GIVE UNWANTED ADVICE

Giving advice is a good thing but there are times people don’t long for advice from you but just a listening ear. A real good friend is able to just listen and support the other without giving advice what isn’t desired.

DO RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

Random acts of kindness isn’t just being nice to strangers, liek for example letting someone go ahead of us in line in the supermarket. Random acts of kindness are also for your friends. You can send them random a tekst, write them a note and many other things. A good friends is doing little things to make the other happy.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE YOURSELF

The best thing about a friendship is that you can be who you are, say what you feel and share your ideas and still be loved by your friend.

DO ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH

Lying can ruin a friendship very quickly so just be honest. Be honest about relationships, career, but also smaller issues like what to wear. As friends you should be able to say the truth no matter what, that doesn’t matter you have tob e brutally honest.

DON'T HAVE UNFAIR EXPECTATIONS

We all have expectations from friendships but these should be realistic. Talk with eachother about the expectations you both have.

DO PRACTICE ACCEPTANCE

Even when you have a lot of the same intrests and things you like there will be differences between you because everyone is unique. Accept your friend and his of her differences.

DON'T FORGET TO STAY IN TOUCH

At school you were often able to see your friends daily but when getting older this isn’t always possible anymore but never forget to stay in touch. It isn’t always easy to stay in touch, we all seems to be very busy and especially when you have a job and yru own family. But making a little time to meet up once in a while, to call or tos end an e-mail or postcard give you much in return.
