I think with the big life decisions - There are many who get it wrong but I think in the having children case I reckon it is high maybe 80/90% heart in right place - I generally try to stay outside such big debates adopting a cautious "Live and Let Live" attitude.
Also... having kids wrecks a woman's body. Giving birth is such a brutal process.

Actually because your parents want grandkids is an very good reason, and one of my main reasons for wanting to have an children. Your parents invest into you, and one of the main ways that you can return them the favor is investing into your own children, also if you are not going to continue your parents legacy, then it's almost like you was never born, which means that you was an very poor investment, especially if you don't have an brothers who would do it instead of you. An legacy is the main reason to have an children, but not everyone needs to have an legacy, maybe it's even better if you would not reproduce, I know that it's not sounds good, but that's way not having an children is not an good thing, in most cases.
Or people could have kids because THEY want kids not because of their parents. They're adults (or at least they should be when they become parents) and can make their own decisions. I didn't go to college because my parents wanted me to. I went because I wanted to. I didn't get into nursing because my parents thinks it's a great career. I got into nursing because that was the career I decided on.
A large portion of people have kids because they didn't use contraception properly.

@Scrambledagain At that point I'm pretty sure there would be fully automated or remote controlled drones or robots that are affordable so you wouldn't need to have an actual person to do all of those basic chores for you such as mowing the lawn and fetching your beer. There's already ongoing research and development in improving artificial intelligence for things like that. We already have self-driving cars, once it becomes common and affordable we'll also have robot servants and drones helping us around the house and especially for the elderly that do not have any family members supporting them or helping them with their daily routines.

@Berethor I don't see how that is pertinent to my answer or her mytake. People should establish expectations that are clear, especially regarding kids, that's about all I can say on a man and childless woman.
@vishna my point is that children are in fact help to bond an man an a woman more then anything else (for better and worse), more then feeling and sex, so there is much logic in trying to try an "stap" a man by having an common child with him, but it's not always work and can backfire, so it's an risky move.
I wanted either a baby or a puppy. I got a baby- Hoping for a puppy in two years. 👽

Well I am very glad I had mine. They are the best part of me. I am very close to them and can't imagine life without them. But... I do believe there people who shouldn't have kids. It sounds like you are one of them... no offence.
That's your choice. I know I shouldn't have kids. So glad someone agrees it's not insulting by any means. Children should be given to people who are able and willing to take care of them. I am able, but I am not willing.
Well I was a stay at home mom... raised my children and now the are successful. No grandkids... my kids are more into their careers at the moment. But maybe one day.
