Well in my country you can’t put up a child for adoption, so you always have to adopt from an African or Asian country. This can cost up to 30.000 euros. Adoption is not made easy here, adopting a child from foster care is made very difficult as well.
A lot of children (yes, by no means all) who are up for adoption have fetal alcohol syndrome, drug abusing mothers, or are otherwise damaged. And if they are older, they may have themselves been in abusive or neglected situations. Those problems can be very challenging to overcome, and can require a lot more resources and energy than healthy children.
If I ever do have kids, they are to be my own. Why take care of some other man's kids so he can go spread his seed somewhere else or some woman can go get her degree? Look I feel for those kids but I can't fix the world alone or take on other people's ''responsibilities''. Big subject to talk about, lets focus on pulling out instead.
Not every child is without parents because they gave him/her up. What if their parents died in a car accident or a horrible house fire or were murdered or mauled to death by a bear... or a hungry cougar. Maybe the family was camping with their toddler and the cougar attacked them and the parents threw themselves onto their child to protect him. Or maybe his parents were spies and died during a mission... And then there's alien abduction.
@itwasmelaniasfault Though it would often make hilarious (and sometimes bad) mistakes. But all would work out in the end... until the next episode of "My Alien Baby".
@itwasmelaniasfault @Nyx_85 Well thats exactly why I wouldn't adopt, aliens dont wanna raise no earthling babies. We want to raise our own alien babies. Did assume I was human just because I use this site?
My sister can't have kids and spent thousands of dollars trying. She was devastated. So i suggested adoption. Her response " why would I want somebody else's fuckup". I think a lot are angry at life, god, what have you over not being able to have children and adoption seems like a slap in the face. A reminder that someone who doesn't want a child was able to conceive and someone who desperately wants to was not able.

Well adoption isn't on the table typically because people want their kids to be biologically theirs. Not to mention I think people don't want to just suddenly have a kid overnight. People want to get pregnant and adjust to the idea of being a parent and getting attached to this life-to-be. I think it's harder to get invested when one is just plopped in front of you.
Since you've to wait for a very long time on the adoption waiting list to adopt you gets time to be used to the thought and adjust to the idea of being a parent. For people who choose to adopt it's not necessary harder when someone is adopted instead of being biologically children. It's not as simply as just plopped in front of you. It's more complicated than that.
Many couples do consider adoption and choose to go that route. But some really want the experience of having their own biological child. (Pregnancy and all that.)
This is an intensely personal decision. You "don't see" and you won't see unless and until you are in this position yourself. If you are an adult, you can be a foster parent right now.
I think it is quite an honourable thing to do, giving a child a new life in some way. But it doesn't work out always like some kids get abused by their adoptive parents, hence...
I never said they don't. But most people want to have their own kids instead of adopting. I don't see anything wrong with adoption but in the future I'd want my own kids too. Something me and my husband made, a part of me and him, who looks like us.
I don’t understand why that’s so important to people. They get all of your diseases too, as well as all of your bad habits. Your children are only very rarely better than you are.
Well you cannot stop people from making their own decisions plus procreation is part of being a human, wanting your own kids is always going to be more important than adoption for most people. What's wrong with that? Most people have kids and then adopt too.
I have many adopted cousins, so needless to say, I appreciate adoption.

You probably read my mytake awhile back and same thing commented adoption is also expensive and my husband and I haven’t quite tried everything so we are going to try this stuff called pre seed
That's so petty. That's how babies communicate, why didn't they try feeding it, changing it, rocking it, etc. I've heard that a lot of people would do nearly anything to adopt a baby. It's kinda like the difference between adopting a puppy and an adult dog.
I think you answered why "money" not everyone can be rich. Since infertility is quite expensive its almost impossible to adopt or have a surrogate, but what about some sperm from like a turkey baster yea that might work.

I feel sorry about it but I have to say this is true.

@Nyx_85 id only adopt a baby who's parents were abducted by aliens haha
@itwasmelaniasfault What if it turns out to be an alien baby? With super powers?
@Nyx_85 that is all the better :) my new super baby I raise to be the next great dictator of the world
@itwasmelaniasfault Though it would often make hilarious (and sometimes bad) mistakes. But all would work out in the end... until the next episode of "My Alien Baby".

Don't worry I knew with that cold of a heart you couldn't be human haha
@itwasmelaniasfault LOL
@itwasmelaniasfault ouch lol, ever heard of alien abductions and anal probes? You might be sore in the morning
Haha that just sounds like weird alien sex. Don't threaten me with a good time
@itwasmelaniasfault lol oh no, you're one of those...
@Nyx_85 got quiet tho, maybe she has experienced it before
I'm not saying nothing!

When a person wants kids, they want to take care of their own kid. One that is related... that looks like them, and shares their features.
Nobody wants to take care of someone else's bastard child unless they are absolutely desperate.
I'd like to know why adoption isn't on the table instead of abortion. You don't want your baby so you're gonna kill it? Uh, no.
And anyway, lots of couples do adopt, but most want to try to have their own first.
At the moment of legal abortion there's no baby, no child. Just a pea or bean sized blob of cells without conscience or ability to feel.
@jacquesvol - that is simply not true.
Don't believe all the Pro Life propaganda. It's full of lies
@Browneye57, agree.
Many couples do consider adoption and choose to go that route. But some really want the experience of having their own biological child. (Pregnancy and all that.)
I wan to pass on my DNA with my sexy boyfriend's mixed in.
Honestly I also want to adopt. I plan on doing both when I get married. Hopefully I'm not infertil.

Some kids get abused by their biological parents too. Does that mean that no one should ever get pregnant?

That's the whole point of mate selection, people want to be eugenicists.
I'm only adopting and not having a kid of my own even though a kid with such great DNA like mine would be so cool but meh not really considering it.
I know a couple who went through all the hoops of adopting a baby, only to return it to the agency 2 weeks later because it cried too much.
That's so petty. That's how babies communicate, why didn't they try feeding it, changing it, rocking it, etc. I've heard that a lot of people would do nearly anything to adopt a baby. It's kinda like the difference between adopting a puppy and an adult dog.

We considered adopting but it just was not for us... too long to explain here.
but that's just it, you considered it--it was a potential option, rather than just closing the door entirely.
Yes that is true.
I want my own baby! Adoption baby could be bad person when older because of genetics.. 😔
Good God. You couldn't put a baby with nicer fingernails.
