Until recently, Vikings were portrayed as dumb, brutal rapists, and villains. None of that is true. Half of viking warriors were women. Another myth is that women had no rights. Again, not true. Men couldn’t even touch a woman without her consent. And if a man abused his wife, she could cut off his balls, hang ithem in her home, and he would be forever shamed. Men today complain that they can't even touch a woman without her getting upset. The Vikings had similar laws and they were badass.
